Ask questions about patterns, trends, or specific topics across a set of calls without reviewing them individually. Gong Assistant analyzes the calls in your selected scope and returns answers grounded in what was actually said.
Ask a question across calls
The calls Gong analyzes depend on where you start. From the Search page, Gong uses the calls in your current search results. From the standalone Assistant page, you define the scope by adding calls, folders, or streams as context.
To ask a question across multiple calls:
Choose where to start:
From Search: From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Search. Apply filters to narrow the calls you want to ask about, then click Assistant.
From the Assistant page: From the left sidebar, click Assistant. Click the plus icon to add context, and select the calls, folders, or streams you want to include.
Type your question in the text box.
Click the Send icon or press Enter.
(Optional) Ask follow-up questions in the same chat to refine your answer. Gong maintains the conversation context while the chat stays open.
Note: For most questions, you can describe the scope in plain language, for example "calls with enterprise accounts last quarter." For filtering by CRM fields or specific phrases, set your filters in Search first. Learn more about searching for calls.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between starting from Search and starting from the Assistant page?
When you start from Search, Gong uses the calls in your active search results as the context for your question. When you start from the standalone Assistant page, you manually choose which calls, folders, or streams to include. Use Search when you have a specific filtered set in mind. Use the Assistant page when you want to combine calls from different places or saved collections.
Can I ask follow-up questions?
Yes. As long as you stay in the same chat session, Gong retains the context of the conversation and your previous questions. To start fresh, click the new chat button at the top right of the chat.
Why did my answer include calls I didn't expect?
Gong uses the context active when you ask the question. If you started from Search, check that your filters are set correctly before asking. If you started from the Assistant page, review which calls or folders you added as context.
Why is Gong Assistant not available on the Search page?
Gong Assistant requires a Gong Foundation seat.
