Search
Instead of reviewing calls one at a time, ask about a filtered set of conversations from Search, with your filters defining what Gong Assistant analyzes.
Ways to use it
Find themes, patterns, and feedback across calls.
Ask broad questions about the conversations that match your filters. For example, filter Search to Technology companies from the last 90 days, then ask "What concerns are customers raising about implementation?"
To ask a question from Search:
From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Search.
Apply filters to narrow the calls.
Click Assistant at the top right of the results.
Type your question in the prompt box.
Click the Arrow icon to send your message.
Each answer stays tied to the filters that were active when you asked it, so when you change the filters, earlier answers stay with the earlier results.
Note:
For most questions, you can describe the scope in plain language. To filter by CRM fields or specific phrases, set the filters in Search before you ask. Learn more about Search for calls and Refine questions with natural language or filters.

Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see Gong Assistant on the call page or in Search?
Gong Assistant requires a Gong Foundation seat. If you don't see it, ask your Gong admin to check whether you have a seat and whether Gong Assistant is enabled for you.
What data does Gong Assistant use on a call?
The call transcript is the primary source, along with related account, deal, and participant information. Gong Assistant doesn't have access to calls or data outside the current call's context unless you ask a question that draws on account or deal information Gong has already captured. For account or deal questions, it can also use emails Gong captured for that account or deal. Which emails are available depends on your company's email capture settings and your access.
What is the difference between starting from Search and starting from the Gong Assistant page?
Search uses the calls in your active search results as context. On the Gong Assistant page, you choose the calls, folders, or streams yourself.
Start from Search for a specific filtered set of calls. Start from the Gong Assistant page to combine calls from different places or saved collections.
Can I ask follow-up questions?
Yes. Gong keeps the context and your previous questions while the chat stays open. To start fresh, click the New chat icon at the top right of the panel.
Why did my answer include calls I did not expect?
Gong Assistant uses the context that was active when you asked your question. To check what it used:
From Search, review your filters.
From the Gong Assistant page, review the calls, folders, or streams you added.
