The available capabilities depend on the information available to Gong Assistant.

Where can you use Gong Assistant?

Gong Assistant is available in multiple places throughout Gong.

You can use Gong Assistant from:

  • Call pages

  • Search

  • The Gong Assistant page

The experience is similar across these locations, but the information available to Gong Assistant may differ depending on where you launch it.

The Gong Assistant page

The Gong Assistant page is a dedicated workspace for analyzing information, creating content, and building Gong assets with Gong Assistant.

Unlike Gong Assistant on other pages, the Gong Assistant page does not start with a predefined context. This allows you to begin with broader questions and then choose the information you want Gong Assistant to use.

The Gong Assistant page also provides more space for reviewing responses, documents, and Gong assets. Documents and assets created elsewhere in Gong Assistant open on this page, making it easier to review, edit, and manage larger outputs.

You can also add context from calls, folders, streams, and uploaded files directly from the Gong Assistant page.

How Gong Assistant knows what to analyze

Gong Assistant uses different information depending on where you launch it. The conversations, search results, files, and other context available to Gong Assistant determine what information it analyzes when answering questions or generating content.

On a call page, Gong Assistant uses the current call together with related account, deal, and participant information. This allows you to ask questions about the conversation itself or explore broader questions about the account, deal, and people involved. On the Search page, Gong Assistant uses the conversations included in the current search results, allowing you to analyze themes, trends, and feedback across multiple conversations.

Adding context helps Gong Assistant focus on the information that is most relevant to your question.

Chat with Gong Assistant

Gong Assistant is designed for ongoing conversations rather than one-time questions.

You can ask a question, review the response, and continue with follow-up questions in the same conversation. This allows you to explore a topic in more detail without repeating information that has already been provided.

Conversation history is saved, allowing you to return to previous chats and continue your work later.

Documents and Gong assets

Gong Assistant can create both documents and Gong assets, such as:

  • Internal enablement documents

  • Sales training materials

  • Competitive battlecards

  • FAQs for customer-facing teams

  • Call scripts or talk tracks

  • Scorecards

For example, you can ask Gong Assistant to generate sales documents based on conversation data or create Gong assets such as scorecards.

Created documents and assets open in the Gong Assistant page, where you can review the output and request changes. Gong Assistant can generate updated versions based on your instructions.

Upload files to Gong Assistant

You can upload files to Gong Assistant to provide information that does not originate from Gong conversations.

Uploaded files can be used alongside Gong data when answering questions, analyzing information, or generating content. This allows Gong Assistant to work with information that does not originate from Gong conversations, such as requirements documents, sales playbooks, internal documentation, draft proposals, or draft emails. You can also upload templates, examples, or other reference materials that you want Gong Assistant to follow when creating content.

Uploaded files are associated with the conversation where they were added. Gong Assistant can continue using those files throughout the conversation, and they remain available when you return to that conversation later.

Agents in Gong Assistant

Agents help automate repeatable workflows inside Gong Assistant.

You can run agents to perform tasks such as meeting preparation, account research, coaching analysis, deal reviews, and content generation. Agent responses are returned directly in Gong Assistant, where you can continue the conversation or refine the results.
