Gong brings customer conversations and activity data into Salesforce so reps can understand deal momentum and review interactions without leaving their CRM. Salesforce users see completed calls, meeting activity, email engagement, and other customer-facing actions that Gong captures.

Gong exports activity to Salesforce in two ways, the Gong for Salesforce app and by creating tasks or events in Salesforce. Your tech admin configures how Gong exports activity to Salesforce. Both the Gong for Salesforce app and task or event creation can be used.

Gong for Salesforce app

The Gong for Salesforce app adds a dedicated object in Salesforce called Gong Conversation. When installed, Gong exports completed calls into this object.

A Gong conversation includes the following:

  • Call recording

  • Call metadata, including call date, duration, and participants

  • Gong analytics, including topics, trackers, and interaction stats

  • Next steps and other structured insights

  • A full transcript when available

  • A link back to the call in Gong

  • If call playback is enabled by your admin, reps can listen to calls directly in Salesforce.

Reports and dashboards

The Gong for Salesforce app includes built-in Salesforce reports and dashboards which provide insights based on real customer conversations and engagement data.

They include information such as:

  • Pipeline impact based on conversational signals

  • Competitive mentions across deals

  • Email activity by rep, contact, and opportunity

  • Scorecard usage and scoring trends

  • Deal engagement patterns across stages

These insights help teams review pipeline health, understand competitive pressure, and identify coaching opportunities without leaving Salesforce.

Activity export to tasks and events

Gong also exports activity to Salesforce as tasks or events. This ensures customer engagement appears on account, contact, lead, and opportunity timelines.

The following activity types are exported:

  • Meeting invites

  • Conference calls

  • Telephony calls, including calls made through Gong Engage

  • Emails sent through the Gong email composer

  • Engage tasks

  • Engage LinkedIn connection requests and messages

  • Engage flow activity

Gong adds consistent prefixes and field values to these tasks so they are easy to identify in Salesforce reports.
