Gong exports customer interactions to Salesforce as tasks and events so reps can track engagement directly in the CRM. These activities include calls, meetings, emails, and Engage actions.

The activities exported to Salesforce 365 vary based on your company’s configuration which includes:

  • Which Gong activities your company exports

  • Whether activities are exported as Salesforce tasks or events

  • Whether Gong creates one Salesforce activity or multiple activities per Gong activity

  • Which Gong custom fields your company added to Salesforce

Activity types Gong can export

Depending on your company’s configuration, Gong can export the following activity types to Salesforce:

  • Meeting invites

  • Conference calls

  • Telephony system calls, including calls made through Gong Engage

  • Emails sent through the Gong email composer

  • Engage tasks

  • Engage LinkedIn connection requests and messages

  • Engage flow activity

How activities appear in Salesforce

Gong exports activities as Salesforce tasks or events.

Reps use these activities to review engagement history, confirm outreach, and understand recent customer interactions without leaving Salesforce.

One activity or multiple activities

Many Gong activities involve multiple participants and are associated with more than one Salesforce record. For example, a meeting might include several contacts, relate to an account, and be linked to an opportunity.

Gong does not assume which participant or record is the primary one. Instead, your company chooses how Gong creates this activity in Salesforce.

One task per Gong activity

When this option is enabled, Gong creates a single Salesforce task for each Gong activity.

The task includes all related context in custom fields, such as:

  • All activity participants

  • All associated accounts

  • All associated opportunities

This option keeps the Salesforce activity timeline concise and avoids duplicate tasks. Reps review the full context by opening the task and checking the populated Gong fields.

This option is commonly used by teams that prefer a single source of truth for each activity.

Multiple tasks per Gong activity

When this option is enabled, Gong creates separate Salesforce tasks so the same Gong activity appears under multiple records.

For example, Gong can create tasks for:

  • Each matched contact or lead

  • The related account

  • The related opportunity

This option makes activity visible directly on each record without requiring reps to open a task to see associations.
