Explore your Gong workspace

Whether you're a new user getting started or looking to work more efficiently, understanding your Gong workspace layout will help you quickly find what you need. See which key actions you can complete right away, helping you stay on top of your tasks.

Your workspace includes three main areas, here’s what you’ll find in each:

  1. Top toolbar: Available at all times in your workspace, this toolbar allows quick access to settings, account page and deeper guidance on making the most of Gong.

  2. Sidebar: Manage your AI revenue-driving activities.

  3. Homepage: Ask questions about deals and accounts, and view a snapshot of your recent and upcoming activity.

Top toolbar

The top toolbar is always visible at the top right of your screen. Use it to search, switch workspaces, update settings, and access resources.

  1. Search bar: View the account page of a company, contact details, or a call.    

  2. Workspaces: Choose the workspace you want to work in.

  3. Quick access menu: Access actions such as starting a call or adding a to-do, from wherever you are in Gong.*

  4. Additional resources: Click Help.png to open up these additional resources:

    • Help center easy access: Ask a question to get an AI-generated answer, view related articles, or open the Help Center in a new tab

    • Community: Open Visioneers, Gongs user community platform.

    • Academy: Access training and learning resources to help you maximize your Gong experience.

    • The Edge: Read data-driven insights and practical advice for revenue leaders.

    • What’s new: See the latest product updates and features to stay up-to-date.

  5. Quick access settings. Click your initials to open up your personal settings:

    • My profile: View your profile settings. Admins manage most details, but you can edit some fields such as which language you can view your AI Briefs and time-zone.

    • My settings: Most fields are read-only, but you may need to finalize setup, manage your do-not-import list, or identify your admin.

    • My notifications: Customize how and when you receive updates about your important workflows.

    • Change password: Available if you log in with a Gong username and password.

    • Refer and Earn: view details of our referral program.

    • Log Out.

Sidebar

The sidebar is your main navigation menu. From here, you can quickly access your homepage, and core work areas*: Engage, Conversations, Insights, Deals, Coaching, and Activity. Click Chevron.jpg to expand sub-categories. You can:

  • Click Pushpin.png to keep the full sidebar available as you work in different areas of Gong.

  • Open Admin center (tech admins only) to access Settings and Agent studio.

    Menu options include 'About this page' and 'Admin Center' for user navigation.

  • Select About this page on some pages, such as Pipeline and Dashboards,  to open a right-hand panel with guidance, FAQ’s and best practices on using or building this feature.

Homepage

The homepage provides a snapshot of your recent and upcoming activity. You can also access some core activity areas from here such as conversations and to-do’s. What you see depends on your role, personal settings, and company setup*.

Account AI

Ask natural-language questions about accounts and deals directly from your homepage. You can also request a structured brief, which will summarize a particular topic.

Tip:

Click the Notification_success.png to subscribe for email updates for that account.

To ask a question:

  1. Select an account under Account AI.

  2. Click askanything.png to customize the scope (entire account or particular deal) or period.

  3. Enter your question.

To get a brief:

  1. Select an account under Account AI.  

  2. Click Get briefed and choose a brief from the menu.

  3. Click > beside Generated for to customize the scope (entire account or particular deal) or period.

Collaboration

On the right side of the homepage, the collaboration panel shows two tabs, items that need your attention, and items where you’ve asked others to collaborate:

Received:

  • New comments on calls you hosted or accounts you follow

  • Mentions of you in call or account comments

  • Calls shared with you

  • Scores given to your calls

  • Feedback requests you receive

Sent:

  • Comments you added to calls

  • Mentions of others in calls or accounts

  • Comments you added to accounts

  • Calls you shared

  • Scorecards you completed

  • Feedback requests you sent

Select an item to open the call or account page. Click X to dismiss items individually or Dismiss all the list. Items older than 60 days are removed automatically.

Your forecast

Stay on top of your forecast by seeing your target, gap, and coverage, with a shortcut to update your number.

Your pipeline

View total open deal value and the portion at risk for a snapshot of your pipeline.

What's on your plate for today

Preview and complete your Engage to-dos to stay on top of your tasks that day.

Conversations

Access live and recently recorded calls.

Overview of call details including duration, date, and more actions option.

Tip:

Click View upcoming calls to quickly see your scheduled meetings and prepare in advance.

Tabs include:

  • Your calls.

  • Team: Your team calls.

  • Company: All calls from your company.  

  • Your streams: See the latest calls in streams you follow or when something notable happens on a call, such as participants.

  • Recently played: Revisit calls you listened to in the last 3 months.

  • Listen later: Find calls you marked to review later.

Click in Conversations to:

  • Schedule new recording: Manually schedule the recording of a web conference call.

  • Hide/ Show skipped calls: Don’t show calls that weren't recorded, such as cancelled meetings or the host turned off recording.

  • Hide/ Show short calls:  Don’t show calls shorter than 2 min.

Calls. Live calls appear at the top of your Conversations list, where you can take notes, cancel the recording, or add to Listen later. Calls currently being recorded are marked ON AIR.

Click to take the following quick actions on individual calls:  

  • AI generate a follow-up email

  • Add to listen later

  • Download

  • Set as private

  • Move from workspace

  • Delete call

*The features available to you depend on your company’s plan and your assigned seats.
