Who's this for? Reps
Working with Gong Engage requires an Engage seat.
The activity feed provides real-time updates on customer and prospect interactions, to keep you informed and focused on key accounts and contacts. Access it by clicking the lightning bolt at the top right of the To-dos page.
Which events are shown in the activity feed?
You can see events related to:
Emails you’ve sent
People you’ve emailed or interacted with through flows
Contacts from accounts assigned to you in your CRM
Leads assigned to you in your CRM
Contacts from deals you own in your CRM
Customizing your activity feed
You can switch each option on or off to customize your individual feed. By default, all options are switched on.
You’ll only get updates from third parties, such as quote-related events from Dealhub or intent signals from G2, if you have the People you’ve interacted with or Accounts and deals assigned to you options switched on.
Emails you’ve sent: Turn this option on to ensure you won’t miss events related to your email activity. We show you open and click events for any emails you’ve sent in the last 30 days, and only for emails sent through Gong or the Gong Anywhere Chrome extension to a contact or lead in your CRM. Email open and click events will only be shown if your admin has open and click tracking turned on for your company.
People you’ve interacted with: If you need to stay up to speed on interactions with people you engage with, this option expands visibility beyond just your direct interactions with those people. It shows updates on activity initiated by you or anyone from your company for people you’ve emailed or interacted with through flows in the last 30 days.
For example, let’s say you added Jane Doe to a flow 7 days ago. If Jane opens one of your emails or an email from a colleague, you’ll receive an update in your feed.
With this option switched on, you’ll also get account-level updates unrelated to a specific contact. For example, if someone from Acme visited your company’s website.
Accounts and deals assigned to you: This option helps you track key account engagement without missing critical updates. It gives you updates on activity initiated by you or anyone from your company for people from your CRM assigned accounts and deals (configured by your admin).
For example, let’s say you or your colleague shares a call with Jane Doe who works at Acme, and the Acme account is assigned to you in your CRM. If Jane views the call that you or your colleague shared, you’ll receive an update in your feed.
Note that email open and click tracking can be turned on or off by your dmin. If open and/or click tracking is turned off, those events won’t be shown in your activity feed.
I’m not seeing any updates in my Activity feed. Why not?
You may not see any updates if no emails were sent through Gong or if there are no updates on the activity or people you’re following. Try adjusting your activity feed settings.
Are the events in the Activity feed limited to a specific time frame?
Events in the Activity feed are not limited to a specific time frame. You can scroll through the feed to see any past events.
How do I know when I have new updates?
The number of new updates in your Activity feed is indicated by the red number next to the lightning bolt icon.
What types of events are in the activity feed?
Event | Definition |
---|---|
Email opened | Someone opened an email sent via Gong or Gmail using the Gong Anywhere Chrome extension |
Link clicked | Someone clicked on a link in an email sent via Gong or Gmail using the Gong Anywhere Chrome Extension |
Shared call viewed | Someone viewed a shared call |
Third party app interactions (digital interactions) | Indicates when prospects interact with third-party apps integrated with Gong, such as taking a survey or viewing a contract. See the list of apps that can create digital interactions in Gong. To connect to these apps, talk to your admin. |
View and reply to emails directly from the feed
Click on an email open or click event to view the email associated with the event. If you’re one of the email recipients, you can reply to or forward the email directly from the email itself. Hover over the name of a contact to get context and take quick actions like a one-off call or email.
What happens if I change the to-do assignee?
If you change the To-do assignee at the top left of the To-dos page to someone else, your feed will still show only your events, not the events of the new to-do assignee you selected.
