Confirm your plan, team hierarchy, and CRM integration. Then assign the permissions that let business admins build forecast boards and let team members and managers forecast in Gong. After access is in place, a business admin can create a forecast board.

Step 1: Confirm your plan and Forecast seats

Your company needs a Gong Forecast plan, and each team member who forecasts in Gong needs a Forecast seat. Typically, every team member and manager has a Forecast seat, as do the business admin and other people who work with forecasts. Learn more about plans and seats.

To check your plan and seats:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Admin center.

  2. In the Settings tab, click Team members under the People card.

  3. Review the plan type and the number of seats allocated and purchased.

Step 2: Check the team hierarchy

Forecast uses the Manager set on each team member's record. The manager can come from your CRM, your provisioning software, or a CSV upload, or you can enter it by hand. Managers see the forecasts of the people who report to them based on it. Learn more about adding or editing a team member.

To check the team hierarchy:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Admin center.

  2. In the Settings tab, click Team members under the People card.

  3. Review the teams and managers shown, and confirm they match your reporting structure.

  4. Update any outdated hierarchy at its source:

    • External provider: If your company provisions team members from a provider such as Okta or OneLogin, make the change there. Managers can't see their direct reports' forecasts while the hierarchy is out of date. Learn more about provisioning team members.

    • Gong: If you manage team members in Gong, make the change on the Team members page.

Note:

Your forecast boards reflect hierarchy changes made in your CRM or provisioning software.

Step 3: Confirm the CRM integration

Gong should be integrated with your CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or Dynamics) before your revenue team starts working with forecast boards. If your CRM isn't integrated yet, follow the setup article for your CRM.

To integrate your CRM with Gong:
