The first step to getting started with Gong is selecting a plan for your organization. Your plan includes a core license, any additional applications, and the desired number of seats for each. Assigning these seats to individual team members in the Team members settings page will give them access to the relevant features and capabilities.
Purchase a plan
Company settings > General settings > Licenses and seats
When you purchase a core license for the Gong Foundation platform, you can then add any of our specialized applications:
Enable Essentials optimizes sales team performance with Gong AI-based coaching for focused feedback and effective adoption of sales initiatives.
Forecast Essentials provides 360-degree visibility of your pipeline, with granular deal intelligence and all of the essentials needed for reality-based forecasting.
Gong Forecast provides the full spectrum of resources and AI-powered data that allow sales teams to submit their forecasting numbers with confidence.
Gong Engage helps sales teams prioritize, personalize, and automate their outreach activities to accelerate their pipeline.
Data Cloud provides the infrastructure to export your Gong-enriched data to external data platforms, BI tools, and other data sources for deeper data analytics and advanced insights.
If your last contract renewal was prior to March 2025, you’ll remain under one of our previous plans. Click anywhere in this bar to view.
If your company onboarded to Gong between 2022 and 2025 and hasn’t renewed yet, these are the available plans:
Gong Core Professional. Includes call analytics with Ask Anything capabilities, Coaching, Deals, and Data Cloud.
Gong Forecast. Includes everything in the Core Professional plan, as well as Gong Forecast.
Gong Engage. Includes everything in the Core Professional plan, as well as Gong Engage.
If your company onboarded to Gong prior to 2022 and hasn’t renewed yet, these are the available plans:
Coaching. Includes The Reality Platform®, Coaching, 3 workspaces, 10 permission profiles per workspace, and 8 provisioning assignments.
Professional. Includes everything in the Coaching plan, as well as deal management.
Enterprise. Includes everything in the Professional plan, as well as sandboxes, internal support URL, support for 200 workspaces, permission profiles, and provisioning assignments.
Data encryption settings vary among the different plans.
Assign seats
The types of seats that can be assigned will depend on your organization’s plan.
The banner at the top (1) displays the number of active team members and the Data capture capabilities that are enabled for them.
The panel on the right (2) provides a summary of the number of seats in use per core license and application, out of the total number of seats available in your Gong contract.
The Seats column (3) displays the application seats assigned to the team member. A purple icon indicates an active assigned seat.
To assign seats:
Click the team member’s name. A panel will open on the right.
Note:
A team member without a seat assignment is a Collaborator. Collaborators have limited access to Gong capabilities and their seats are free of charge.
Scroll down to Seats and switch on the required seats for the team member. You can also assign seats to multiple team members.
Buy more seats
The panel on the right displays a summary of the number of seats in use per core license and application, out of the total number of seats available. If your company is eligible, you will be able to purchase additional seats directly from this panel.
To purchase additional seats:
Click Get more seats.
Select the number of core license seats and application seat you would like to purchase and continue with checkout.
Note:
You can use newly purchased seats immediately. Charges for purchased seats are prorated to the end of your subscription term. An invoice for the purchased seats, plus any applicable taxes, will be sent to the email account of your billing contact. They should receive the email within 2-3 days of placing the order.
Adding seats after contract renewal
When you renew your contract, your company will transition to Gong’s new plan model. Gong will provide as many seats as needed to maintain your current functionality for the renewal period. However, any seats added after the contract renewal must be paid for separately.
For example, suppose your previous contract included 20 Gong Pro seats, supporting 20 team members who were using Deals functionality. When you renew, Gong will provide 20 seats of the Gong Foundation core license as well as 20 seats of the Forecast Essentials application. This will ensure that you still have access to Deals features under the new model, at no additional cost.
This remains the case even if you choose to increase your number of seats. For example, if you increase from 20 to 30 seats at renewal, Gong will provide the additional 10 seats for both Gong Foundation and Forecast Essentials to maintain your current functionality. However, any extra seats purchased after renewal must be paid for separately, as they were not included in the renewal transaction. So if you choose to add 10 more seats to your account one month after renewal, and you want those team members to also have full Deals functionality, you would need to purchase Gong Foundation as well as Forecast Essentials for those 10 new seats.
