Who can use this: Any team member
Available on: Any Gong plan
Set your spoken languages, AI Translator preference, and UI display language independently from My profile. Each setting controls a different part of how Gong works for you.
Set your AI Translator language
The AI Translator language sets the default language for translated call transcripts and AI-generated content such as summaries and briefs. Your admin can also configure this setting; whichever was changed most recently takes effect.
To set your AI Translator language:
Click your profile avatar at the top right and select My profile.
Click Languages in the left panel.
Click the AI Translator dropdown, and select your preferred language.
Click Save changes.
Set your UI display language
The UI display language changes menus, buttons, labels, and navigation in Gong for your account. It does not affect transcripts, CRM content, or content created by other team members. English, Français, and Français Canadien are currently available.
To set your UI display language:
Click your profile avatar at the top right and select My profile.
Click Languages in the left panel.
Click the UI display language dropdown, and select a language.
Click Save changes.
Note:
Some areas of Gong may still appear in English while localization is in progress.
Set your spoken languages
Spoken languages tell Gong which languages to expect when transcribing calls you own. Narrowing this improves transcription accuracy. The setting applies only to calls where you are the owner, not calls you joined as a participant.
Note:
Changing your spoken languages affects future calls only. Existing calls are not automatically retranscribed. Learn more about language support in Gong.
To set your spoken languages:
Click your profile avatar at the top right and select My profile.
Click Languages in the left panel.
Click the Select a language dropdown under Languages spoken during calls, and select the languages you speak on calls.
(Optional) Click Add another language to add additional languages.
Click Save changes.
Frequently asked questions
I changed my spoken languages, but old calls still show the wrong transcript language.
Spoken language changes apply to future calls only. Existing calls are not automatically retranscribed when you update this setting. Contact your admin if you need historical calls retranscribed.
My spoken language setting keeps reverting to the wrong language.
If your company uses automatic provisioning (such as Okta with SCIM), the provisioning payload may overwrite your spoken language setting when it syncs. Ask your admin to update the spoken language value in the provisioning source so it persists.
The AI Translator language I set isn't being applied to my calls.
Your admin can also set the AI Translator language at the company level. If your admin changed the setting after you did, their change takes effect. Contact your tech admin to align on the preferred setting.
I don't see an option to change the interface language.
Interface language options depend on your company's Gong configuration. If no languages other than English appear, your company may not have additional languages enabled. Contact your tech admin to confirm.
