An Account board is a grid of accounts that shows CRM fields, Gong activity, and AI fields for each account. Admins set up boards for their teams. Team members review accounts, apply filters, and open account details.
Board structure
Three configurable components determine what you see on a board and what information is available when you open an account.
Tabs: Tabs organize accounts into named buckets based on saved filter logic, for example "Up for renewal this quarter" or "Engagement required." Each tab uses CRM or Gong fields to define which accounts it shows. A board can have up to eight tabs.
Columns: Columns display at-a-glance data for each account row. Options include CRM fields (such as ARR, renewal date, or health score) and Gong-calculated fields (such as activity over time and Activity level). Activity level is a Gong calculation that ranks each account by engagement level across different time windows. Learn more about how activity level is calculated.
Default brief: The board's brief setting controls which AI brief type and time period appear by default when you open an Account panel from that board. Team members can change the brief type and period from within the panel itself.
The Account panel
Clicking an account name on a board opens the Account panel on the right side of the page without leaving the board.
The panel contains the following tabs:
Overview: Account details, an AI brief entry point, and a summary of open and recently closed deals
Activity: Recent interactions with the account, which you can filter by activity type
Briefs: An AI-generated account summary. You can change the brief type, scope, and time period from this tab.
To-dos: Tasks linked to this account. Requires Gong Engage.
Notes: Team notes for the account. Requires Gong Engage.
CRM: CRM fields for the account, which you can edit directly from the panel. Requires Gong Engage and the Update CRM fields in Gong permission.
To open the full Account console for an account, click Go to account at the top of the panel. The Account console shows the complete activity timeline of interactions such as calls, emails, and meetings, all open deals, and a more detailed view of account data. Learn more about the Account console.
Which accounts appear on your board
Account boards don't support account-level permissions. Anyone with access to Account boards sees all accounts on the board. To restrict access, use page-level permissions in the permission profile.
The tab filters, ad hoc filters, and team selection on a board are filters, not permissions. They change which accounts you see, but they don't control who has access.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a specific account missing from my board?
Check that the account has recent recorded activity. Also check that none of your board's tab filters or ad hoc filters is hiding it.
Why is the team member selector blank?
The board's team members field must be a user-lookup field, which references CRM user records. An admin can import a missing field in the Data import tab of your CRM integration page in Admin center, under the Account object.
What’s the difference between Account boards and the Account console?
Account boards show many accounts at once and are for reviewing and prioritizing across your book of business. The Account console is focused on one account at a time and shows one account in full detail.
