Customize your Gong notifications

Notifications from Gong keep you informed about all your important workflows whether you’re at your desk or on the go. Configure your email and Slack notifications on Gong desktop to control the updates that matter to you.

Your company’s Gong admin will have set organization-wide default notification settings. However, you can still customize them to suit your specific needs.

To get started, click your profile icon, and select My notifications.

The tips below will help you manage your notifications.

Use the sidebar to navigate

Use the sidebar to easily navigate to the notification section you need.

Select your personal preferences

There are two channels available to configure notifications: email and Slack. For each notification, you can choose if and how you want to be notified. If all checkboxes are unselected, the toggle will automatically switch off, while selecting one will switch the toggle back on.

Depending on the notification, some channels may not yet be supported on Gong and will have a deactivated checkbox.

Your preferences are saved automatically.

Notifications for stream digest

When you're subscribed to a stream, you’ll automatically receive email notifications for that stream. If your entire team is subscribed to this stream, the option to unsubscribe from this notification will be deactivated.

Customizing account update email

If Weekly account update is enabled, you'll receive a weekly email highlighting accounts we believe are worth following that week, based on deal size and recent meetings. The update includes recent developments and CRM changes. You can personalize the list of accounts by clicking Customize email and selecting +Add account to include accounts that are important to you.

Setting a notification schedule

At the right of each notification setting, you’ll be able to view when you receive alerts, which may include specific days of the week and times of the day. Some of these timings are configurable, in which case you’ll see a .

Here’s how to edit the options:

1. Click the to open a pop-up screen, where you’ll be able to schedule to receive notifications:

   1. Daily, Weekly, or Immediately.

   2. At a specific hour, ranging from 12AM to 11PM.

   3. On a particular day of the week, from Monday to Sunday.

   Note:

   You won’t always see all of these options, and some choices are fixed.
