Who can use this: Business admin

    Available on: Gong Foundation

Ideal for: Sales rep, Sales manager

Required permissions: Streams: Create, edit, and archive streams

Once a stream is created, you can update its filters and settings, share it with your team, or remove it when it is no longer needed. Manage streams from Your library or Company library using the More actions icon on each stream.

Edit a stream

Use this to change a stream's filters, brief type, notification settings, or stream type after it has been created.

To edit a stream:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon, then click Edit.

  3. Update the sections you want to change.

  4. Click Save.

Rename, move, or copy a stream

You can rename, move, or copy streams you created. These actions are available from the More actions icon on each stream.

Rename a stream

Renaming a stream changes its display name without affecting its filters or settings.

To rename a stream:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon, then click Rename.

  3. Enter the new name and confirm.

Move a stream

Moving a stream changes its location. If you move a stream from Company library to Your library, existing subscribers stop receiving notifications.

To move a stream:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon, then click Move.

  3. Choose the destination.

  4. Click Move.

Copy a stream

Copying creates a duplicate stream at a destination you choose. You can then adjust its filters and settings independently. The original stream is unaffected.

To copy a stream:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon, then click Copy.

  3. Choose the destination.

  4. Click Copy.

  5. Rename the copy and adjust its settings as needed, then click Save.

Share a stream and manage subscriptions

Sharing a stream gives team members access to view it. You can also manage email notification subscriptions for yourself and for anyone you share with.

To share a stream and set up subscriptions:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon, then click Share.

  3. Search for the team members or teams you want to add.

  4. Click Share stream.

Note:

Sharing a stream gives access to the stream's call list. Whether recipients can play the calls depends on their own call access permissions. Private calls are visible in the stream list but cannot be accessed by recipients without direct call access.

Delete or archive a stream

Removing a stream does not affect the calls it collected. Calls remain in Gong and are still searchable. Your library streams can be deleted; Company library streams can be archived.

To delete or archive a stream:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Conversations, and select Your library or Company library.

  2. Hover over the relevant stream and click the More actions icon.

  3. Choose what you want to do:

    • Delete (Your library): Permanently removes the stream. A warning appears if the stream is shared with others.

    • Archive (Company library): Removes the stream from Company library. A Business admin can restore it later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restore an archived Company library stream?

Yes, but only a Business admin can do it. From Company library, scroll to the bottom of the left panel and click Archive. Find the stream, click the More actions icon, and select Move back to restore it.

What happens to calls when I delete a stream?

Nothing. Calls collected by the stream remain in Gong and are still searchable. The stream is what is removed, not the calls themselves.

How do I unsubscribe from a stream's email notifications?

To manage your stream email notifications, go to Your profile > My notifications, look for the stream name in the Stream digest section and click Unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe using the unsubscribe option in a notification email, if available.
