Gong for Zoom allows real-time insights during calls, such as note-taking, monitoring talk time, and bookmarking key moments. Admin approval is needed, and the app must be pre-approved at the organization's Zoom account level. Notes can be shared with teammates, and interaction data helps track speaking time. Live transcripts and various language options are available. The app can be customized, including chat options and screen sharing. Adding and removing the app requires admin approval. Overall, Gong for Zoom enhances call collaboration and efficiency by providing real-time feedback and tools for better communication.
Benefit from Gong’s view into reality, in real-time while you’re on your calls. Collaborate with teammates, take notes, keep tabs on whether you're talking to much, and more. See what’s really happening in your calls while they’re taking place, so you can course-correct when necessary.
Getting started with the app
Make sure your call is scheduled in advance, and set to record with the native Zoom app. From the admin side, Gong needs to be pre-approved as an app at your org’s Zoom account level. For more, see this.
During the call, you can share your screen with customers as you usually do and the Gong app for Zoom won't be visible to customers.
Start your call and open the Gong for Zoom app. Once the app is open, here's what you can do:
Take notes and see them as comments in Gong
Take notes during the call, to remind yourself or notify your colleagues about key points in the call, as they come up. Notes are saved as comments and imported into Gong with the call. As with comments, you can choose who sees the notes: anyone at your company, specific people, or yourself.
Teammates on the call who are also using the Gong for Zoom app can see your notes in real-time and respond, for quick and easy real-time collaboration.
Notes you make during the call are not visible to customers on the call.
Bookmark important moments
When something important comes up in the call, add a bookmark. Once the call is imported into Gong, you’ll see the bookmarks in the comment panel. Click on the timestamp to go to that moment in the call.
See interaction info and see how much you’re talking
Know whether you or your colleagues are talking too much during the call with real-time talk ratio data via the interaction tab. Seeing this info during the call helps you stay on track, and course-correct if necessary.
If you've spoken for more than 2.5 minutes, you'll see an alert letting you know.
Note:
For interaction data to be visible during the call, the call owner needs to open the Gong app for Zoom.
See the call transcript during the call
Seeing the live transcript during the call makes it easier to follow along and add comments. To be able to view the transcript, your Gong admin must enable live-streaming from Zoom to the Gong app.
The transcription is turned off by default. To turn it on, click the Transcript tab, and choose the call language, from the following options:
English (US, Australia, UK)
Spanish (US)
French (France, Canada)
German
Hindi (India)
Italian
Japanese
Korean
When you turn on the transcript, everyone on the call sees the following message:
Note:
The transcript you see in the app is not as accurate as the one you’ll see later in Gong.
