Install Gong for Salesforce

Article summary

Who is this for? Tech admin

Install the Gong for Salesforce app to push Gong data into Salesforce.

Gong for Salesforce sets up the following for you in Salesforce:

  • The Gong Conversation Salesforce object

  • A set of custom objects to structure all call data within each conversation

  • A canvas app (for the call highlights and transcript)

  • A connected app to enable API usage from Gong to Salesforce

Before you begin

  • Make sure that you have enough free data storage in Salesforce. Gong for Salesforce uses a single API call to create a new Gong Conversation record, which creates approximately 25 additional child records.

  • Make sure you have at least 3 custom fields free; 2 in opportunity and 1 in account. These will be used by Gong.

  1. Go to the Gong.io listing in AppExchange, and click Get It Now.

    Note:

Gong for Salesforce is a free app. In AppExchange, it's listed as costing a dollar since this is the lowest amount AppExchange allows when listing an app. You won't be billed for installing it.

  2. Click Log In.

  3. Complete your AppExchange login, and select whether you want to install the package in your Production or Sandbox environment.

  4. Confirm the installation details, agree to the Terms and Conditions, and click Confirm and Install.

  5. Select Install for All Users and click Install.

  6. The installation process starts followed by a progress notification.

  7. Once the installation is complete, you'll be notified. Click Done.

    Note:

The installation can be a lengthy process if the Salesforce servers are busy. If a delay occurs, an email will be sent to you when the installation is complete.

The next step is to Configure Gong Conversations.
