Gong is fully compatible with many telephony systems (dialers). Gong integrates with telephony systems by importing the audio itself, rather than joining and recording a meeting as done when integrating with web conferencing systems. You can connect to more than one account from Gong.

Note:
In your telephony system, enable recording for the relevant teams or users in order to record and import calls to Gong.
In Gong, ensure that your team members are set to import calls. For more details, see Add or edit a team member

There are 3 types of telephony system integrations:

via API
via Salesforce
Other - set up yourself, or with help from either Gong or the telephony provider

The following sections list the telephony systems supported by Gong for each integration type. We constantly add new providers, so if you have any needs, suggestions or questions, get in touch with Gong Support.

API integration

The following telephony systems allow Gong to connect to their API. This is the preferred integration type due to its reliability. With this integration, Gong integrates with the telephony provider to download the appropriate calls. Click the telephony provider name to learn how to integrate.

Salesforce integration

If the direct API connection does not work for your organization, some integrations have an alternative integration that works with Salesforce activities created by the telephony system after calls are completed.

You must have a connection to Salesforce to use this integration. Gong uses your Salesforce connection to find, download, and import relevant recordings.

Following are basic instructions. You usually need to access both the provider and Salesforce.

First, import users (and set them to record), then connect Salesforce, before integrating the telephony provider.
Go to Company settings > Data Capture > Telephony Systems.
Click on the relevant provider and see what you need to supply to Gong.
Sign into the provider's application and make sure the provider is connected to Salesforce.
Sign in to Salesforce and set it up to receive calls from the provider. Copy the info you need to provide to Gong.
Go back to Gong and provide the requested information.
