If you prefer to use Zoom Phone for your company rather than the Gong dialer, you can connect Zoom Phone to Gong Engage. Once connected, your team members can use Zoom Phone within the Gong interface the same way they would use the Gong dialer.

Calls made using Zoom Phone are reflected in Engage Analytics. If you want your organization’s Zoom Phone calls made from Gong to be pushed to your CRM, ensure you have the right setup for activity you’re exporting to Salesforce.

Check which dialers are already connected

Go to your Company settings. Under Engage, go to Dialer setup. In the top left, the dropdown menu shows you which dialer is currently active for your company, and any other dialers you’ve already connected. If you don’t see Zoom Phone in this menu, it’s not connected yet.

Connect Zoom Phone to Gong Engage

  1. From the dropdown menu in the top left, click Add dialer

  2. Select Zoom Phone and click Connect dialer

  3. Once you’ve checked your connection settings, click Connect

Set up Zoom Phone

  4. Click Activate and set as default

What happens when you switch between the Gong dialer and an external dialer?

Any business phone numbers you have will be deleted within 10 days of the switch. If you switch back to the Gong dialer within these 10 days, the business numbers are still available. If you switch back to the external dialer again, the 10-day period starts over.

Certain tools are not available while using an external dialer like Zoom Phone and can only be used with the Gong dialer. These include:

  • Dialer recording settings you’ve configured (only applicable on mobile)

  • Your company profile for trusted calling in Trust Hub

  • Phone numbers: except for personal numbers for mobile, any business numbers you have for the Gong dialer cannot be used

  • Regulations that apply to the Gong dialer

  • Email notifications regarding submitted documentation, such as the US business profile and regulations, are no longer sent

  • Call notes

*The features available to you depend on your company’s plan and your assigned seats.
