Who can use this: Any team member

Available on: Gong Foundation

Required permissions: Build assets / Create documents

Ask Gong Assistant to create documents from your Gong data, or to build Gong assets such as scorecards.

The Ask button in the prompt box sets what Gong Assistant does: Ask gets answers and insights (the default), Create turns insights into documents, and Build generates Gong assets.

Before you begin

Your permission profile determines what Gong Assistant can create for you.

  • To create a document, you need the Create documents permission.

  • To build a Gong asset, you need both the Build assets permission and the corresponding permission for that asset, for example Manage Scorecards and Trainings for building a scorecard.

Your Gong admin sets these permissions. To learn more, see Set up access to Gong Assistant. If you cannot create documents or build assets, see Troubleshoot Gong Assistant.

Create documents

Draft a document from your Gong data, such as an internal enablement document, sales training material, a competitive battlecard, FAQs for customer-facing meetings, or a call script or talk track.

To create a document:

  1. Open Gong Assistant from one of the following:

    • Gong Assistant page: From the left sidebar, click Assistant.

    • Call page: Open the call, and click Assistant at the top right of the page.

    • Search: From the left sidebar, click Conversations, select Search, apply filters, and click Assistant.

  2. (Optional) On the Gong Assistant page, click the Add context icon (+) in the prompt box, and select an option:

    • Calls: Choose the calls for Gong Assistant to use.

    • Folders and streams: Choose the folders or streams for Gong Assistant to use.

    • Upload files: Upload a template or example for Gong Assistant to follow.

To learn more, see Add calls, folders, and streams to Gong Assistant and Upload files to Gong Assistant.

  3. Click Ask in the prompt box, and select Create.

    Tip:

You can also describe the document you want without selecting Create or Build.

  4. Enter a description of the document you want in the prompt box.

  5. Click the Arrow icon to send your message.

  6. Click the document you created to open it in the right panel.

A document you create from a call page or Search opens on the Gong Assistant page.

  8. (Optional) On the Scorecards page, view and edit the scorecard, and then publish it.

Change, copy, or download documents
