Using deal and account briefs

Your team can use deal and account briefs to identify and summarize key information from multiple conversations quickly, so they catch up quickly and stay briefed. Briefs are ideal for:

  • Knowledge transfer between people and teams

  • Quick preparation for upcoming meetings

  • Key topic summary over multiple conversations

Briefs enable anyone on your team to gain a deep understanding of what’s going on in an account or deal in seconds. Build a brief for every type of use case, and enable your team to get briefed in moments about topics that matter to them. Perfect for account handovers, executive summaries, meeting prep, and more.

Create briefs for your team

  1. Go to Company settings > Customize analysis > AI Briefer.

  2. From the briefer setup page, you’ll see preset briefs created by Gong, and briefs that your team has already built. To create a new brief, click + New brief and choose whether you want to build an account brief or call brief.

  3. Under Settings > Info, give the brief a name and description.

  4. Under Sections, add a section for each topic you want summarized. Under Info, give the section a name. Under AI instructions, choose whether you want Gong AI to answer a question that summarizes this section’s topic, or you want to use a smart tracker to find the answer.

    1. If you choose Ask Gong AI, enter the question you want answered in the first field. In the second field, add details or examples to help Gong AI understand exactly what you’re looking for.

  5. To see what type of results the instructions produce, click Test AI.

  6. Click Save to save the brief, click Publish to make it available for people who are reviewing their deals and accounts. Test results for the entire brief by clicking Preview.  

Test a section

Make sure you get the results that you want from a specific section by testing the instructions on a real account or deal.

  1. Enter the question and instructions in the AI instructions section and click Test AI.

  2. This opens a testing dialog, where you enter an account, deal, and period for testing the instructions.

  3. Fill in the fields and click Test it.

  4. If you’re satisfied, continue with the setup. If you want to test the instructions on a different account, deal or period, click Change.  

Test a brief

Make sure you get the results that you want from the brief by testing it out on a real account or deal.

  1. Once you’ve set up the brief, click Preview in the top right of the screen.

  2. This opens a testing dialog, where you choose an account, deal, and period for testing the brief.

  3. Fill in the fields and click Test it.

  4. If you’re satisfied with results and want to make the brief available for your team, click Publish. If you want to test the brief on a different account, deal or period, click Change.
