AI Briefer helps you catch up quickly by generating structured summaries called briefs for your calls, deals, accounts, and contacts. Briefs give you the key information you need for handovers, executive summaries, meeting preparation, and more.

This article outlines where you can get briefed in Gong on your accounts, deals, calls, and contacts.

Get briefed on accounts and deals

From the homepage

  1. Select an account under Accounts AI.  

  2. Click Get briefed and choose a brief type from the menu.

  3. To customize the scope or period, click the An arrow points to a highlighted section emphasizing key information in the document. beside Generated for.

From the account page

  1. Click Account AI in the top right corner.

  1. In the panel that opens, you’ll see the default brief type set by your admin, or the most recent brief type that you viewed.

  2. To view a different brief, click Change brief. Choose a different brief type, scope (deal or account), or period, and click Get briefed.

From a deal board

Deals > Pipeline

To view a deal overview brief

  1. Click on an account to open the deal panel and open the Briefs tab.
    You’ll see the default brief type set by your admin, or the most recent brief type that you viewed. 

  2. To view a different brief, click Change brief. Choose a different brief type, scope (deal or entire account), or period, and click Get briefed.

To view a deal risk brief

  1. Click on an account to open the deal panel and open the Score tab.
    You’ll see the default brief type set by your admin. This brief type is fixed, and can’t be adjusted.

From Engage*:

Engage > Accounts or Pipeline

  1. Click Account AI in the top right corner.

When you open a call page, a default call brief is displayed in the Briefs tab on the left.

Get briefed on contacts

Engage > Accounts or Pipeline

  1. Click on a contact or lead to open the contact drawer and then click Briefs.

    You’ll see the default brief type set by your admin, or the most recent brief type that you viewed.

  2. To view a different brief, click Change brief. Choose a different brief type or period, and click Get briefed.

Deals > Pipeline

  1. Click on an account to open the deal panel and then open the Contacts tab.

  2. Click on a contact to open the contact drawer and then click Briefs.

    You’ll see the default brief type set by your admin, or the most recent brief type that you viewed.

  3. To view a different brief, click Change brief. Choose a different brief type or period, and click Get briefed.

Considerations

Date range limitations: AI Briefer supports preset or custom date ranges up to 1 year. Within that range, it covers up to 60 calls and 500 emails. If your selection exceeds this, not all conversations will be included.

Scope alignment: Brief types may contain CRM fields that are associated with deals, accounts, leads, or contacts. If you’re viewing a brief type that contains CRM fields that don’t align with the entity you’re viewing, some data may be unavailable. For example, if you’re viewing an account and choose a brief type with deal-related CRM fields, or you’re viewing a contact and choose a brief type with lead-related CRM fields, some data may be unavailable.
