This article answers frequently asked questions related to building forecast boards.
Who can manage forecast boards?
Business admins given permission to edit forecast boards by the tech admin can edit forecast boards.
Can I restrict the types of deals displayed on the board?
Yes. You can apply filters to any metric included in the board so it only includes specific types of deals.
Where are the board’s team members and hierarchy managed?
Team members and hierarchy are managed in Admin Center > Team members.
How do I remove people from a board without changing the hierarchy?
To remove a team member from a particular forecast board, navigate to their name, click > Hide from board.
What happens if team members switch teams or leave?
Any hierarchy change made in your CRM or your user provisioning software is reflected in your forecast boards. When a team member leaves, an Inactive label is displayed next to their name in the board:
What happens to deals of team members that switch teams?
When a team member switches teams, their current and historical deal data relocates with them and rolls up to their new team.
Can I keep historical deals rolled up to the original team?
Yes. There are two ways to keep old deals rolled up to their original team:
Create a placeholder user and assign the historical deals to that user.
Create a placeholder user and assign the new deals to that user.
In both methods, historical deals stay rolled up to the original team, while new ones are rolled up to the new one.
Can I delete a forecast column?
You can’t delete a forecast column, but you can hide it from the board. This means that the column is removed from the board, and nobody is reminded to update a number for it. Historical data is retained and is available if you unhide the column in the future.
