Required permissions: Manage dashboards
The Target attainment widget shows how each team member is tracking against their targets, broken down across fiscal periods in a color-coded table. It's built for quota attainment reviews: a leader needs to see at a glance who is on track, who needs attention, and how the pattern looks over time.
Step 1: Open the dashboard
You add widgets from inside an existing dashboard, so start by navigating to the one you want to build out. If you haven't created a dashboard yet, do that first.
To open the dashboard:
From the left sidebar, click Dashboards.
Select the dashboard you want to add the widget to.
Click + New widget at the top right of the dashboard.
Select Target attainment.
Tip:
If you have a lot of dashboards and aren't sure where to find yours, see Find and organize dashboards for guidance on searching, filtering, and navigating the Dashboards page.
Step 2: Configure the metric
Selecting a metric is the only required part of this step. Once you've chosen one, you can add a target, color coding, a drilldown view, and filters.
To configure the metric:
In the Metric section, click Select metric and choose a metric, for example Won Amount for a revenue attainment view.
(Optional) Refine the metric using the following options:
Measure against target: Select the checkbox, then click Select target and choose a target. Each cell in the table will show attainment as a percentage of the goal.
Note:
Make sure targets exist for the fiscal periods you want to display.
Assign display colors to value ranges: Select the checkbox. Set the green threshold (is greater than) and the red threshold (is less than). The yellow range fills automatically. Set thresholds that stay meaningful across all teams and periods on the widget. A threshold for a high-performing team may unfairly flag a ramping team as underperforming.
Note:
Color coding only appears when the widget is set to Table view.
Drilldown view: Click Drilldown view and select the list view that will open when viewers click into a cell to see the underlying records.
Filter: Click + Add filter and set the filter condition.
Step 3: Set the team, period, and breakdowns
This is where the Target attainment widget gets its distinctive multi-column layout. You can break down by fiscal period to show attainment month by month or quarter by quarter, and add a team breakdown to show sub-teams as separate rows.
To set the team, period, and breakdowns:
Under Select team and period, click Team member is and select a team.
Click Date period is and select a period. Choose in dashboard period to follow the dashboard selector, or pick a fixed fiscal option: in the current month, in the current fiscal quarter, or in the current fiscal year.
Note:
This widget supports fiscal periods only. Rolling ranges like "last 30 days" are not available. If you're using a shared dashboard with a mix of widget types, stick to fiscal period options in the dashboard's period selector.
(Optional) To spread attainment across multiple columns by period, click the Breakdown by period toggle to enable it, then select Fiscal months, Fiscal quarter, or Fiscal year.
(Optional) To add sub-team rows, click the Breakdown by team toggle to enable it.
Click Save.
Note:
The Apply dashboard filters toggle is on by default. When enabled, the widget's team selection responds to dashboard-level selections.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the Target attainment widget showing no data for some periods?
Targets must exist for the fiscal period you're displaying. If no target has been set for a team member in a given period, that cell shows no data. Check that targets are configured for all relevant team members and fiscal periods before using the period breakdown.
Can I show both teams and individuals in the same view?
The Teams and Individuals selector in the widget preview lets viewers switch between the two views at any time. You don't need to configure separate widgets, the selector is available to everyone who can see the dashboard.
When should I use color coding?
Use color coding for metrics with a consistent definition of "good" across teams and periods, such as win rate, average sale price, or attainment percentage. Avoid it for metrics like Bookings or Pipeline where what counts as green varies by team, territory, or ramp stage. A threshold set for a senior team will unfairly flag a ramping rep as underperforming.
