Gong Enrich retrieves missing or outdated email addresses and phone numbers for contacts in Gong. Enrich can also make related account and contact information available in Gong, such as industry, company details, title, and LinkedIn information.

You can request contact details manually, or Gong can retrieve them automatically when a contact enters a flow that requires them.

Enriched data is available in Gong and can be synced to the corresponding fields in your CRM, if your admin has configured CRM field mapping.

What Gong Enrich does

Enrich uses the data partners configured by your admin to retrieve contact details. For each type of data, the partners are arranged in a provider waterfall, which Enrich checks in order. If one partner doesn't return a result, Enrich checks the next one.

Email addresses and phone numbers use separate provider waterfalls, so Gong can use different providers for each type of data.

Enrich follows these steps:

1. Matches the contact to an account.

2. Checks whether the contact still works at that account.

3. Queries the configured data partners in order.

4. Validates returned email addresses or contact numbers before showing them.

When Enrich has completed:

• Retrieved details are displayed in the contact panel.

• Related account information may be updated in Gong.

• The button changes to Enrich again.

• You can see the time when the contact was last enriched.

Before Enrich queries the data partners, it checks whether the contact still works at the account listed in Gong. If the contact is no longer associated with that account, Enrich flags the contact and stops the process.

If the contact is verified but all configured data partners return no data, Enrich displays a message identifying the details that could not be retrieved.

If a data partner returns an email address that fails validation, Enrich discards the address and checks the next data partner.

When to use Enrich

Use Enrich when a contact is missing or has outdated details that you need to reach them or add them to a flow.

• Send an email, but no valid email address is available.

• Make a call, but no valid phone number is available.

• Add the contact to a flow that contains an email or call step.

• Replace an email address that bounced.

• Check whether a contact still works at the account listed in Gong.

You can retrieve both email and phone details, or request only one type of data.

Enrich runs in the background, so you can continue working in Gong while the data is retrieved. You can move or minimize the enrichment status indicator while the request runs.

Where enriched data appears

After enrichment completes, retrieved data can appear in the following locations, depending on your company's configuration:

• The contact panel.

• Account details and the Account Console.

• Your CRM.

Whether enriched data is written to your CRM depends on the field mappings configured by your admin.
