If you are new to Gong, you'll need to integrate with Office 365 so that calendar meetings and emails are picked up. If your team members' calendars are already connected, just add email. This enables the account timeline to provide the maximum effect and integrate emails sent or received by team members into the total picture of a customer account.
Before you start, decide if you want to connect, user-by-user or company-wide.
It is simpler to connect company-wide. This doesn’t mean that Gong will import emails from everyone in the company – it just prepares the foundation. You still decide exactly who needs to see their emails as part of their accounts and turn the email import on for them.
If the customer is new and maybe running a pilot, or only has a few users, you may decide to connect user-by-user. This connects you (the company’s admin) as the first user, and then you decide which team members to turn on (including yourself). They receive an email (with a link) asking that they connect under My Settings.
The connection invite and the need for the individual team member to connect are not required when taking the company-wide route. This email is sent only once to every user.
What Office 365 permissions does the Gong app need?
Gong requires read-only access to the following elements:
Permissions required for company-wide set up
Permissions required for user-by-user set up
