Who can do this?
Connect Gong to a Slack workspace to send notifications about events in Gong to channels in Slack. Gong connects to the Slack API and uses scopes to perform actions in Slack and in Gong. Find out which scopes we use here.
Once connected, you can turn on notifications for calls org-wide, or allow individuals to turn on notifications for themselves.
Notifications can be sent to an individual's personal Gong app when:
-
Someone comments on a call they follow (either they participated in the call or subscribed to its comments)
-
Someone replies to a comment they made on a call
-
They are mentioned in a comment on a call
Notifications can be sent to private or public Slack channels when Slack notifications are enabled in a stream.
To enable Gong notifications in a private Slack channel, add the Gong app to the channel:
-
Open the channel
-
In the message field, type / and then start typing Add apps to this channel. You can also click the + sign beside the message field and start typing Add apps to this channel
-
Search for and select the Gong app
You can share calls and call snippets to private or public Slack channels via the Share Call tab.
To enable calls to be shared in a private Slack channel, add the Gong app to the channel:
-
Open the channel
-
Enter "/Add apps to this channel"
-
Add the Gong app
