Import Salesforce fields to tailor Gong to your org practices, and align Gong's findings with your needs. Note that multi-select, address, location, and encrypted fields cannot be imported. Simple reference fields may be imported (for example, AccountId in Contact), and will be automatically selected. Complex references that point to data tables will be ignored.
Some Salesforce fields may have slightly different names when they are show in the Deals board.
Once you're set up, you can:
-
Search for calls that match your Salesforce attributes in the Search page
-
View deals and their value in the Accounts page
-
See the fields as part of the ranking criteria in Whisper for Topics
-
Drill down to monitor changes in the account timeline (for Opportunity fields set to track changes)
Note
Make sure that the user that connects to Salesforce has access to all fields you want to import.
-
In your company settings page, go to CRM > Salesforce.
-
In the Import from Salesforce area, click Manage Salesforce fields.
The list of fields you can import from Salesforce are organised by Contact, Account, Opportunity, and Lead. If the field resides under an opportunity, account, lead, or contact, then after being imported into Gong, the field will appear in the filter on the Search page under the CRM.
Tip
Use the search to find fields within each object.
-
In each tab, select the fields that you want to use in Gong, such as filter calls and view in deals.
Track changes enables you to monitor when and what changes to your Salesforce fields happen as your deal progresses.
-
To track the change of a field's value, select Track changes next to the field.
Changes are shown in the account timeline and account page.
Note
This step requires that you have set up field history tracking in Salesforce. If you haven't set it up yet, refer to the Salesforce Help articles Field History Tracking and Track Field History for Custom Objects. For formula fields, refer to the Unable to track Field History of Formula Fields article. Ensure that you select Set history tracking and then select Track old and new values for each field.
-
Select the currency field you want to use as the deal value.
-
Click Save.
