To record on mobile, the Manually schedule and upload permission must be enabled in your user profile. For more about permissions, see this
Record scheduled meetings
To record scheduled meetings using the Gong app, make sure:
Your phone's native calendar app (not the Google or Outlook calendar app) grants full access to the Gong app.
Your phone's native calendar app is synced with the Google or Outlook calendar that you use with Gong.
If you've met these prerequisites, you're good to go. Here's how:
Open the Gong app. Click the Actions
button. Tap Record a meeting.
You'll see a calendar icon with the name of scheduled meetings within the next 2 hours.
Tap RECORD to associate the recording with a specific meeting. (You can also tap SKIP, in which case you'll record, but the recording won't be associated with the meeting.)
Tap
to start recording,
to pause it, and
to resume recording. When you're finished, tap
to stop the recording. Give the recording a name and then tap Save. The recording is uploaded to Gong, analyzed and transcribed.
Record spontaneous meetings
You can record spontaneous face-to-face meetings that aren't scheduled in your calendar with the Gong mobile app.
These recordings are audio only, and if you're in a noisy environment, the quality may not be optimal. If you're meeting in a meeting room, place your mobile device as close to the speakers as possible.
Open the Gong app and click the Actions
button. Tap Record a meeting.
Tap
to start recording,
to pause it, and
to resume recording. When you're finished, tap
to stop the recording. Give the recording a name and optionally associate it with an account, opportunity, or contacts before uploading the recording, then tap Save. The recording is uploaded to Gong, analyzed, and transcribed.
Note:
Contact association from the mobile recorder is currently available on iOS only.
Add contacts to a recording
On iOS, you can associate contacts with a recording before uploading it.
After stopping the recording, open the recording details.
Under Association details, tap Search contacts.
Search for and select the contacts who participated in the meeting.
Review the recording details, then tap Upload.
Contacts you associate with the recording appear in the call’s participant list and activity timeline. They’re also available in Gong Assistant, contact briefs, CRM activity, and call search by participant.
Contacts associated from the mobile app aren’t assigned to a specific speaker track. To associate a contact with a speaker, use the web Call page.
Monitor recordings with Live activities
On supported iPhones, Live activities show the recording status and elapsed time at the top of the screen. The Live activity starts automatically when you begin recording and remains visible when you move Gong to the background, open another app, or lock your device.
Tap the Live activity to return to the active recording in Gong.
Add call outcomes
Add call outcomes when the call is over so it’s easier to keep track of how the call went, and handle follow-up conversations.
See recent meetings
See the upload status of recently recorded calls, and take relevant actions, via the Recents tab that’s accessible from the meeting recording page. You can also see a log of all of your recent recordings, and the status of their upload and analysis.
