Who can use this: Any team member
Available on: Gong Forecast
Ideal for: Sales rep, Sales manager, Manager of managers
Required permissions: Forecast page access, Edit forecasts
Submit your forecast number for a period on a forecast board, and add a note for your manager if you want to. Your Business admin sets which columns take submissions.
When your forecast is due
Your business admin sets the day and time your forecast is due on each board. When reminders are turned on for the board, the Gong app shows a reminder starting 24 hours before the due time, and the reminder disappears after you submit your forecast. If your company has a Slack integration, you also get a Slack reminder 1 hour before the due time. Managers and managers of managers get a Slack summary 2 hours after the due time.
Submit a forecast
Submit your number from a submission cell. A submission cell has a square around the number.
To submit your forecast:
From the left sidebar, click Revenue, and select Forecast.
Click the board selector at the top of the page, and select the board you're forecasting for.
Click the Team dropdown, and select the team you're forecasting for.
Click the Period dropdown, and select the period you're forecasting for.
Click a submission cell, for example Commit, to open a panel on the right.
Enter your forecast number in the Enter a forecast field.
Note: If your business admin set the column to auto-submit, Gong submits the number for you. You can't enter a number in that column, but you can still add a note. The panel then shows the last submitted number and when it was submitted.
Enter a note for your manager in the Add note field.
Review the information below your submission:
See your team's rollup number.
Click Submission changes to see how your submissions are trending and what has changed over time.
See your progress toward your target, if your business admin set one.
Click to view the deals in the cell, if your business admin set that up. The deals open in a deal board view, sorted by amount with the highest first, and you can open each deal's panel from there. Learn more about reviewing your pipeline on a deal board.
See your forecast broken into months, if you're forecasting for a quarter.
Finish the submission:
Next submission: Move to the next submission cell.
Save: Save your submission.

Can other people view and submit my forecast numbers?
