Exclude a team member from a forecast board to remove their revenue data from that board's numbers, and include them again when their data should count. Inactive team members are hidden automatically, so you don't need to do anything. The last section explains when they appear.

Exclude a team member

Exclude a team member when they don't carry a quota and shouldn't provide a forecast, such as assistants or people in marketing or product roles. Exclude them as well when they shouldn't forecast for the revenue stream or sales motion the board covers, for example customer success team members on a board focused on new business.

When you exclude a team member, their revenue data, including closed-won deals and submissions, is removed from forecast rollups, forecast analytics, and projections. The team member stays hidden for everyone who views the board until you include them again. Exclude team members on the board itself, not in the board builder.

To exclude a team member:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Revenue, and select Forecast.

  2. Click the board selector at the top of the page, and select the board.

  3. Click the Team dropdown, and select the team that includes the team member.

  4. Hover over the team member's name, and click the icon that shows the tooltip "Exclude [team member name] from this rollup".

  5. In the confirmation dialog, click Exclude.

Include a team member again

Including a team member shows them on the board again, and their revenue data counts in the board's calculations. Excluded team members are listed in the Hidden team members window.

To include a team member again:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Revenue, and select Forecast.

  2. Click the board selector at the top of the page, and select the board.

  3. Click the icon that shows the tooltip "Excluded and inactive team members" to open the Hidden team members window.

  4. Under Excluded, hover over the team member, and click Include.

Inactive team members

Inactive team members are hidden from a board unless they have relevant data for the selected period, such as a target, a submission, or deal inventory. When they appear, they show an Inactive badge. For example, Brian left the company in Q3 FY26:

  • Historical view (Q2 FY26): If Brian contributed to the forecast in this period, he appears on the board with an Inactive badge, so his historical submissions and attainment stay visible.

  • Current view (Q3 FY26): If Brian has no relevant data for this period, he's hidden from the board.

To view inactive team members:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Revenue, and select Forecast.

  2. Click the board selector at the top of the page, and select the board.

  3. Click the icon that shows the tooltip "Excluded and inactive team members" to open the Hidden team members window.

  4. Review the team members listed under Inactive.

Note:

Inactive team members can still appear in forecast field selectors after they're deactivated, when they're relevant to the reporting hierarchy or historical data.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove someone from a board without changing the hierarchy?

When you exclude a team member from a board, the team hierarchy, which is managed in Admin center under Team members, stays as it is.

What happens when team members switch teams or leave?

Forecast boards reflect hierarchy changes made in your CRM or provisioning software. When a team member leaves, they appear with an Inactive badge only if they have relevant data for the selected period. To learn more about the deals of a team member who switches teams, see troubleshooting forecast boards.
