In September 2025, Gong introduced a new type of smart tracker builder, which is now question-based by default. Question-based smart trackers are easier to set up, work across multiple languages, and don't require a minimum call volume. They provide faster, more accurate insights into your conversations.
What’s changed?
Smart tracker now refers to the new question-based smart tracker.
The legacy smart tracker is still available, and now called example-based smart tracker. These remain limited to English and only for companies with at least 500 calls.
You can have up to 20 question-based smart trackers published at a time. When you go to publish a tracker, you’ll see how many you still have available.
How to find smart trackers
Admin Center > Agent Studio
Hover over AI Tracker and click Settings.
On the AI Tracker settings page, click + Create tracker and select Smart tracker.
If you want to create an example-based smart tracker: At the bottom of the page, click Example-based builder.
