To install the Gong Notifications app in Microsoft Teams, you'll first need to set up an integration between Gong and Microsoft Teams Chat. This article walks you through the process.

This integration requires Gong to have access to Teams via Azure. This allows Gong to identify available teams and channels so that users can select which ones should receive notifications.

Step 1 - Connecting to Microsoft Teams

The user configuring the integration must have both of the following permissions:

  1. Tech admin access for Gong

  2. Azure Global admin privileges

  1. In Gong, go to Admin center > Settings tab > Ecosystem > Integrations

  2. Click Add Integration at the top right corner. This will bring you to the Gong Collective.

  3. In the Gong Collective, search for Microsoft Teams - Notifications and then click Connect.

Note:

Be sure not to confuse this with the listing for Microsoft Teams - Conferencing.

  1. In the permission request page, click Accept to give Gong access to Teams.

Gong should now be connected to Microsoft Teams - Notifications.

Step 2 - Installing the Gong Notifications app in Team

Once the integration is complete, the Gong Notifications app can be installed in Teams. Note that only a Microsoft Teams admin can perform this installation. Here's how:

  1. In Microsoft AppSource, search for Gong Notifications.

  2. Click Get it now

  3. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

  4. Once installed, you should see a screen notifying you that the app has been added successfully.

From here, you can select the Teams channels where you’d like to enable the Notifications app. Notifications will automatically be sent to the selected channels when calls are added to your streams, or when you'd like to share a call with your team in a channel. However, if you plan to use Gong notifications for personal notifications only, you do not need to select a channel here.

Step 3 - Configuring org-wide notifications in Gong

  1. After steps 1 and 2 above are completed, go to Admin center > Settings tab > Company > Notification settings

  2. Under Collaboration > Comments, tags, and replies, be sure to enable the notification checkbox for Teams.

Team members will now receive Gong notifications in Microsoft Teams. Individual users can manage their personal notification settings in their My notifications page.

*The features available to you depend on your company’s plan and your seat assignments.
