Gong Sandbox environments let you test integrations, workflows, and configurations without impacting production data. They’re ideal for evaluation, experimentation, onboarding, and can be used by developers, admins or IT teams perparing a wider rollout.
Sandboxes can also be used as developer instances for partners or customers who want to create integrations with Gong. There’s no technical difference, the term reflects the intended usage and audience.
To request a Sandbox, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM). If you don’t have one, submit a request to our Digital CSM team, select I have a question about my account > Account or Licensing Request.
FAQs
What is a Gong Sandbox?
A separate Gong instance with no paid subscription or license limits. It’s separate from your production environment, allowing you to test your configurations and setup without affecting live data.
What’s the difference between a Sandbox and Developer Instance?
There is no technical difference. Sandbox and developer instance describe different use cases. If you are a developer looking to build and test with Gong’s APIs, we recommend starting with the Developer Portal.
Is a Gong Sandbox free?
Yes. However, if you need technical support for setup or testing, you may need to engage our Professional Services team.
Does the Sandbox include any data?
No. A Gong Sandbox starts as a clean, empty instance. It does not come pre-loaded with data and is not connected to your production Gong environment.
How do I add users if emails must be unique?
Email addresses must be unique across all Gong instances. You can:
Use alternate email addresses
Use plus addressing, such as [email protected]
Avoid reusing production emails in the Sandbox.
How do I test Gong for Salesforce in a Sandbox?
Install the Gong managed package in your Salesforce Sandbox
Confirm object relationships and field mappings
Upload a call in Gong and verify it appears in Salesforce
This setup typically provides enough information to validate the integration without needing production access.
Can I copy my production data into a Sandbox?
No. Gong does not support data replication between environments.
