Who can use this: Business admin
Available on: Gong Forecast
Ideal for: RevOps
Required permissions: Manage metrics or Manage dashboards
List views are reusable custom tables that control which fields appear when team members drill into metric data from a dashboard widget or a Forecast board column. You create list views centrally in Data Studio and assign them to metrics as the default drilldown view. Individual widgets can then use the metric default or override it with a different view.
Note:
List views apply to account-based metrics (base object: Accounts). Deal-based metrics use deal boards for drilldowns. For metric configuration, see Create a basic metric.
Create a list view
Create a list view to define which account fields appear in the drilldown table. Once saved, the view is available to assign to any account-based metric.
To create a list view:
From the left sidebar, click Admin center.
In the Settings tab, click List views on the Data Studio card.
Click + New view.
Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
From the View entity dropdown, select the record type for this view.
Click Next to open the column configuration.
Add the columns you want to show in the drilldown table:
Select fields from the available CRM fields. Fields from related objects appear at the bottom of the field list.
Drag columns to reorder them. The order set here is the default column order viewers see.
Choose a default sort field and direction for how records are ordered in the drilldown.
Click Save.
The view appears in your list views library and is available to assign to account-based metrics. The List views page shows the name, description, last modifier, and how many metrics and widgets currently use each view.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Generic account view?
The Generic account view is a preset list view Gong provides. It contains commonly used account fields and is automatically assigned to account-based metrics that don't have a custom view selected. You can edit it to match your company's CRM field definitions, but you cannot delete it.
How do I assign a list view to a metric?
When creating or editing an account-based metric (base object: Accounts), scroll to the Drilldown view field and select your list view from the dropdown. Hover over a view name to preview its columns before selecting. See Create a basic metric for full metric configuration steps.
Can I use a different list view for a specific widget without changing the metric default?
Yes. When editing a widget, you can override the metric's default drilldown view and select a different list view for that widget only.
A field I need isn't showing in the column picker. What should I do?
The available fields depend on your CRM integration. If a field isn't available, a tech admin may need to import it through the CRM integration settings. New fields can take a few hours to sync after import.
