Gong automatically detects the language spoken on a call and generates the transcript in that language. If the detection was wrong, or if the call included multiple languages and you want the transcript in a different one than the one that was generated, you can reprocess the call from the call page.
Note:
Reprocessing creates a new source transcript in a different language. It is not a translation. To read a transcript in another language without changing the source, use the translate option on the call page. Learn more about translating a call transcript.
Transcribe a call in the correct language
When you reprocess a call, Gong generates a new transcript in the language you select and reapplies its analysis. The call is temporarily unavailable while processing runs.
To transcribe a call in the correct language:
From the call page, click the More actions icon
at the top right.
Select Transcribe call in correct language.
Select the language for the transcript and click Apply.
Gong processes the call in the background. When complete, the transcript is updated in the selected language and Gong reapplies its analysis, including topics, trackers, and AI summaries.
Note:
Reprocessing can only be done within 90 days of the call recording date. The call is unavailable during processing, which can take up to an hour.
If Gong consistently identifies your calls in the wrong language, contact Gong support.
Frequently asked questions
Is reprocessing the same as translation?
No. Reprocessing generates a new source transcript in a different spoken language. Translation renders the existing transcript in a different reading language for you personally without changing the source or affecting analysis.
Can I reprocess a call more than once?
Yes, as long as you are within 90 days of the call recording date. Each reprocessing replaces the previous transcript.
What happens to topics, trackers, and summaries after reprocessing?
Gong reapplies its analysis to the new transcript. Topics, trackers, AI summaries, and other insights are recalculated in the updated language, and results may differ from the original.
