Gong’s deal boards give you complete visibility into pipeline health and deal status, helping you forecast with confidence. They organize opportunities in customizable views and use powerful AI agents to provide business insights. With automated number submissions and rollups across your team hierarchy, Gong ensures forecasts are accurate and based on real-time data.
This quick start guide shows you how to set up deal board views that fit your workflow, drill into deals, run forecasts, and apply AI insights to manage your pipeline effectively.
Arrange your deal board view
Deals > Pipeline
Any Gong user can view a deal board, where you’ll see key deal information at a glance, including columns for:
Deal likelihood score: A score for each open deal to show how likely it is to close within its expected period compared to others in the pipeline.
Warnings: Hover over the number to see exactly what warning has been flagged on that deal.
Contacts: Hover over the number of contacts to see who was recently active.
Activity timeline: Shows recent customer and rep interactions.
Playbooks: View completed elements of your company’s playbook methodology at a glance.
Trackers: Hover over the tracker column to see when the phrases were mentioned.
Amount: Displays your selected CRM amount field. Click
to view shared attribution details.
Refer to the screenshot for some ways you can customize your view:

Switch between different boards.
Choose whose deals you're viewing and date ranges.
Click +Add filter to filter the board using CRM or Gong AI fields such as Warnings.
Select a tab across the top for different deal groupings, with rollup totals at the top.
Use the Groups panel on the left, to group deals ad-hoc by CRM or Gong fields.
Toggle between Deals and Team to view pipeline by individual deals or team member rollups.
Click the arrows next to a column title to sort the board by that column.
Search accounts using the search icon in the account name column.
Use the deal panel
Deals > Pipeline
Access detailed insights from the deal panel by clicking an account name.

Briefs: View AI-generated deal summaries.
Score: Review deal likelihood score and see the deal health brief*.
Contacts: See who’s engaged in the deal, with 21-day activity shown in bars. Get suggestions for new contacts for outreach*.
Warnings: See detailed risk alerts and suggestions for risk mitigation.
Activity: Activity history shows a chronological list of interactions such as emails, calls, shares, interactions.
Playbook: Complete each element, which shows as a letter with different statuses:

White: No notes added, no AI suggestions.
White with star: AI has suggested content for this element.
Light blue: Manual note added, needs validation.
Dark blue: Note validated and element complete.
Copy AI suggested notes or use them as a starting point. Notes must be marked as validated once reviewed.
Update CRM: Update key fields like amount, stage, close date directly from the board.
Review account: Click to reach the account page.
Start Forecasting
Deals > Forecast
Configurable forecast boards give the flexibility of spreadsheets connected to the real-time data of Gong and your CRM data. Once your forecast boards have been built for your team, you can start using them to submit your own or your team’s forecast numbers.
Each forecast board includes a set of columns that show the current state of key business metrics—such as bookings, targets, or a combination of both. Teams or individuals appear in the rows, with each cell displaying their relevant metrics.

You can see your team aggregated roll-up number in the blue bar.
Some columns are set to retrieve submissions - either manually or automatically. Submission cells appear with a square around the submission number.

How to submit your forecast numbers
When it's time to submit your forecast, you’ll see this reminder on your Gong homepage, which disappears once it's done:

Select your team, the forecast board, and the period for which you’re forecasting.

Click a Submission cell, for example: Commit. A panel opens on the right.

Enter your forecast number. If your admin has set this column to auto-submit, numbers are submitted automatically on your behalf. You see the last submitted number and when it was submitted.
Below your submission number, you can:
Add a note for your manager.
Click Submission changes to see how your submissions are trending and what has changed over time.
Drill into the deals in the cell (if set by your admin). They open on a deal board, where you can move into each deal’s panel for specific details.

See your forecast numbers broken into months if you’re forecasting for the quarter.
Click Progress to target to see how you progress toward your target (if set by your admin).
Click Next submission to move to the next submission cell or click Save.
