You can configure company-wide settings to define which calls and meetings should be recorded. When an individual team member's settings differ from the company's settings, the individual settings are used for that team member.

  1. Click Company settings > Data capture > Recording settings.

  2. In the Web conferencing calls area, answer the following questions:

    1. Which meetings should be recorded?

      Choose between:

      • Web conference calls organized by a recorded team member

      • Web conference calls organized by anyone in your company, with a recorded team member invited

        Note:

If you use the Gong bot for Zoom to record calls, you must give your Zoom users permissions to record to computer files. See Set up Zoom recording with the Gong bot

    2. Should Gong record internal web conference calls?

All calls with participants who are external to the company are recorded. In this setting, you can choose whether to record:

      • Yes, record internal web conference calls

      • No, only record web conference calls with at least one invitee outside your company

To record external calls only, ensure your internal domains are defined so that Gong will be able to identify which calls include external participants.

    3. Should Gong record video? Choose between recording audio and video, or audio only.

    4. Select the name of the recording bot. Choose the name you want displayed for the Gong bot:

      • Gong Recorder

      • [Your Company] Recorder by Gong

      • Gong AI Notetaker

      • Gong Notetaker

  3. In the All calls area, define the minimum duration a call must be to be imported and analyzed. This setting is applied to web conference and telephony system calls.

    Note:

    • Default is 30 seconds for web conference and telephony calls

    • Default is 3 seconds for calls made with the Gong Dialer or a dialer associated with Gong Engage (even if the call isn’t made through Engage). This cannot be configured manually.

  4. Click UPDATE to save your changes.
