Once a theme analysis is complete, you can open it to review the themes and supporting evidence, export the results, or turn a theme into an ongoing AI tracker. You need the Insights > Theme Spotter permission to access analyses.
View an analysis
Open a completed analysis to see the business question, the call dataset it covers, and the themes Gong identified.
To view an analysis:
From the left sidebar, click Insights, and select AI Theme Spotter.
Locate the analysis in the list, click the action menu on the right, and choose View analysis.
The analysis shows the question asked, the filters and period it covers, the number of calls and accounts analyzed, the number of themes identified, and a summary of each theme with a count of calls it appeared in.
Explore a theme
Drill into any theme to see sub-themes, supporting quotations, and links to the source calls where that theme was detected.
To explore a theme:
On the analysis page, click Explore next to the theme you want to examine.
Review the theme's sub-themes and their supporting quotations from source calls.
Click Show sources to open a panel with links to the calls where this theme was detected, along with summaries of the relevant call moments.
Note:
Source calls are only visible if you have access to them. If a quotation is from a call you cannot view, the source remains hidden.
Export an analysis
Export the full analysis results to share findings outside Gong or do further analysis in a spreadsheet.
To export an analysis:
On the analysis page, click Export and choose:
Download theme table: Downloads a file with theme and sub-theme data.
Send sources via email: Sends a list of source calls to your email address.
To export data for a single theme, open the theme page, click the action menu in right corner, and choose Download theme details (PDF) or Send sources via email (CSV).
Track a theme
Turn any theme into an AI tracker to monitor it on an ongoing basis. This creates a new tracker in your account that tracks the theme going forward.
To track a theme:
On the theme page, click Track theme.
Click Go to AI Tracker to open AI Tracker, with a new draft AI tracker that’s ready to be published.
Creating a tracker from a theme requires the Manage AI Tracker settings permissions. Learn more about managing AI trackers.
Frequently asked questions
I have the Theme Spotter permission but can't see AI Theme Spotter in Insights. What should I do?
Check that the permission is enabled in your permission profile under Pages > Insights > AI Theme Spotter. If it is enabled and the section still does not appear, contact your business admin. There may be a permissions configuration issue at the profile level. Learn more about troubleshooting AI Theme Spotter.
Can I see an analysis that someone else created?
Yes. All completed analyses are visible to any team member with the Insights > Theme Spotter permission. The analysis list at Insights > AI Theme Spotter is shared across your company.
