Who can use this: Any team member
Available on: Gong Engage
Ideal for: Sales rep
If you are working across many companies, use the People page. If you are working one company at a time, use the Accounts page. You can do the same outreach from either, so the choice comes down to whether you are thinking about a person or a company.
When to use the People page
The People page lists the contacts and leads your company has brought in from its CRM. Go there when you want to:
Look across everyone at once rather than at one company
Narrow the list by job title, who the account belongs to, or how the account is tiered
Build a list of people to put into a flow together
Save a filter combination and return to it
Work with leads, which do not appear under an account until they are converted to contacts in your CRM
Learn more about finding contacts and leads.
When to use the Accounts page
The Accounts page groups the work by company, so you get everyone at an account together with everything that has happened there. Go there when you want to:
See the full picture of a company before you reach out to anyone at it
Read what your team has already noted about the account
Follow the activity across everyone at the company, not one person at a time
Stop outreach going to colleagues of someone who has replied
Get an AI brief on where the account stands before a call or a meeting
Learn more about working with accounts.
Key differences
The following table compares the two pages.
Compare | People page | Accounts page |
|---|---|---|
Shows | Every contact and lead, on separate tabs | Companies, with their contacts inside each one |
Leads | Yes, on the Leads tab | No |
AI brief | A brief on one person, and the option to ask a question about them | A brief on the whole account, from Account AI |
Filters | Filter on the person and on their account, and save the combination | Search, sort and Manage columns within the account's contacts, no filters |
What you can do on both pages
Add someone to a flow, send a one-off email or call them from either page. What changes is what you can see while you do it, and how much you can narrow the list first. The Accounts page gives you the company around the person. The People page gives you everyone at once, with filters you can save.
