Who can use this: Any team member

Available on: Any Gong plan

You can share a call with colleagues or customers, create a snip of a specific moment, or embed the recording in another tool. Some options are only available once the call has finished processing. If the call is still processing, wait a few minutes and refresh before trying to share.

Share a call internally

Sharing internally gives colleagues a direct link to the call in Gong. They need a Gong account to view it.

To share a call with your team:

  1. Open the call.

  2. Click the Share button at the top of the call page.

  3. Select Share internally.

  4. Add the colleagues you want to share with and an optional message.

  5. Click Share call. Gong sends them a notification with a link to the call.

Share a call with customers

Sharing a call with customers lets you send a call to customers, prospects, or people at your company who do not use Gong. Recipients do not need a Gong account, but access may require identity verification or be limited to specific people, depending on your company's sharing settings.

To share a call with a customer:

  1. Open the call and click Share at the top right.

  2. Select Share with customers.

  3. Select the Get link tab.

  4. (Optional) Update the available sharing settings using the following options:

    • Expiration: Your admin sets the limit for how long access can be extended (maximum 100 days).

    • Anyone with the link: Require people to identify themselves via Google or LinkedIn.

    • Only specific people: Allow additional people from approved company domains to access the call after verifying their email address.

  5. Enter the recipients' names or email addresses.

  6. Select Copy link and send it to your recipients.

Note:

If your admin has enabled AI summaries, you can include Gong AI summaries when sharing a full call with customers. The summaries include Highlights, with a brief overview, key points, and next steps, and an Outline of the call's sections. AI summaries are not available when sharing snips.

Create a snip

Create a snip to share a specific moment from a call, such as an objection, a key decision, or a strong demo, without sharing the full recording. The original call is not affected.

To create a snip:

  1. Open the call.

  2. Click the Snippet icon A scissors icon representing cutting or editing actions in digital content. below the call screen.

  3. Drag the yellow bars on the timeline to select the part of the call you want to use.

  4. Select what you want to do with the snip:

    • Share internally: Share the snip with colleagues who have a Gong account.

    • Share with customers: Send the snip to people outside Gong.

    • Create a support ticket: Submit the snip to Gong Support.

    • Add comment: Add a timestamped comment to the snip.

    • Add to library: Save the snip to your Gong library.

    • Download snippet: Download the snip as a file. Requires the Call actions: Download call media permission.

    • Embed call: Generate embed code for the snip.

    • Feedback: Request feedback on this part of the call from a colleague.

    • Trim out this part: Permanently remove this section from the call recording.

Embed a call

Use embed to share a call inside another tool, such as an internal wiki or learning platform. The recording is only accessible to signed-in Gong team members at your company who have permission to view the call.

To share a call with customers or other people who do not use Gong, use the customer-facing Copy embed link option instead. This link provides access to the call player without the transcript or summaries.

To embed a call:

  1. Open the call.

  2. Click the Share button at the top of the call page.

  3. Select Embed call.

  4. Copy the embed code and paste it into the tool where you want the recording to appear.

See who has viewed the call

After sharing a call with a customer, you can check whether they have viewed it. The Shares & Views tab shows view activity for calls shared externally.

To see who has viewed the call:

  1. Open the call.

  2. In the right panel, click Shares & Views.

  3. Check the share details and view activity for calls shared with customers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I share a call that is still processing?

Yes, but some sharing options may be unavailable while a call is processing. Wait until processing is complete before sharing. The page shows "Processing call media" while the call is being processed. Refresh after a few minutes to check whether it is ready.

Does the customer need a Gong account to view a shared call?

Customers don't need a Gong account to view a shared call, but they may need to verify their identity depending on the share settings.

Can I share a snip instead of the full call?

Yes. After creating a snip, use the Share options to send just that segment internally or with a customer. The recipient only sees the snipped portion, not the full recording.
