About the call page

Who can use this: Any team member

Available on: Any Gong plan

The call page is where a recorded call lives in Gong. From here you can catch up on what happened, review the transcript, share the recording, leave feedback for a colleague, or ask Gong Assistant to answer questions about the call.

Note:

If you see "Processing call media," the recording is still being prepared. Briefs, the transcript, and playback become available once processing is complete. Some calls may show the transcript before the video is ready.

Get an overview with Briefs

Briefs give you a structured summary of the call without requiring you to read the full transcript or watch the recording. The Highlights view surfaces key moments, a recap with the main points covered, and next steps.

Listen to the recording

The player sits in the center of the page and gives you full control over how you review the call. You can skip forward or back 15 seconds, adjust playback speed, isolate individual speakers so you only hear one side of the conversation, and scan the timeline to jump to a specific moment. The talk-time bar below the player shows when each participant was speaking, so you can choose to listen to a specific participant.

Tip:

You can also listen in to a call while it is happening. From your home page, click a call marked ON AIR and select Just listen in. You can hear the call but will not be registered as a participant. This option requires the Call actions: Listen in permission and is not available for calls recorded using native Zoom recording.

Read the transcript, outline, and call details

The left panel gives you three ways to work through the call content: the transcript, an AI-generated outline with timestamps, and call details including attendees and points of interest. Use whichever view matches what you're looking for.

Take action on a call

The action buttons at the top right of the call page let you add the call to your library, save it to Listen later, share it, or generate a follow-up email. Open the More actions menu for additional options, such as setting the call to private, associating it with a CRM record, or opening it in your CRM.

Collaborate on a call

Use the panel on the right to collaborate with teammates and review the call. Add timestamped comments, mention people, and share context about specific moments. You can also view stats about the call host's performance, including talk ratio and longest monologue.

Share, snip, and download

The share button gives you options for sending the call to people inside or outside Gong. You can share the full recording internally with teammates, create a customer-facing link that lets external contacts view a specific snip or the whole call, embed the recording in another tool, or download the audio, video, or transcript. Downloading audio and video requires the Download call media permission. Sharing works even while a call is still processing, though access to some content may be limited until the recording is fully ready.

Use Gong Assistant

Gong Assistant is available from the call page via the Assistant button at the top right. Ask it a direct question about the call and it cites the exact moments in the transcript where it found the answer.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I see the recording or transcript yet?

The call is still processing. Gong needs several minutes after a call ends to prepare the recording, transcript, and AI content. The page will show "Processing call media" until this is complete. If the call has been processing for more than one hour or content appears missing after processing finishes, see Troubleshoot common call page issues.

Can I access a call page on my phone?

Yes. The Gong mobile app lets you listen to recordings and read transcripts on the go. Some actions available on the desktop call page, such as scoring or embedding, may not be available in the mobile app.

Who can see a call in Gong?

By default, call visibility in Gong is governed by your workspace's sharing settings. Usually, participants and their managers can see a call. If a call is set to private, only the owner and any other internal participants on the call can view it. Your admin controls who has access to whose calls across the team.

Can I edit the call title or fix a speaker's name?

Yes. Click the call title at the top of the page to rename it. To correct a speaker name, go to the Call Info tab and edit the participant details. Use Transcribe in correct language from the More actions menu if the transcript language needs to be corrected.

What's the difference between sharing internally and sharing with customers?

Sharing internally sends a Gong link to teammates who already have Gong access. Sharing with customers generates a link that lets people outside Gong view the recording or a snip without needing a Gong account. Customer-facing links can be set to expire and may have viewing restrictions depending on your workspace settings. Learn more about sharing, snipping, embedding, and downloading a call.
