Set up trusted calling

Prev Next

Who can use this: Tech admin, Business admin

Available on: Gong Foundation, Gong Engage

Business phone numbers can appear as spam when calling new prospects, which reduces the chance they will answer. Trusted calling lets you register your business numbers so that service providers can identify your calls as legitimate. This increases the likelihood that calls go through and are shown as verified rather than unknown or spam.

Trusted calling is only available for companies with US-based addresses. It can be set up as soon as you have provisioned business numbers.

Setting up trusted calling involves two steps: creating a business profile and then activating the relevant protocols for your numbers.

What trusted calling includes

  • SHAKEN/STIR protocols: Adds a digital certificate to your phone numbers so that service providers can verify your identity. This is a suite of protocols implemented in the US and Canada to combat robocalls.

  • Voice Integrity: Registers your numbers directly with call providers to help prevent them from marking your numbers as spam.

Once your profile is submitted and verified, all current business numbers and any future numbers you provision are automatically marked as trusted.

Set up trusted calling

You can start this process immediately after getting business numbers, or at any time from the Trust Hub tab in Dialer setup.

To set up trusted calling:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Admin center.

  2. In the Settings tab, click Dialer setup under Gong Engage.

  3. Click the Trust Hub tab.

  4. Click Create profile. (If you have just provisioned numbers, you may be prompted to do this as part of the number confirmation flow.)

  5. Enter your business details:

    • Legal Business Name

    • Business type

    • Business industry

    • Business Registration ID Type and Number

    • Business Regions of Operations

    • Website URL

    • Social Media Profile URL

  6. Click Next.

  7. Enter your company's main business address. Providing a US address is recommended, as some trusted calling features require it. If you register with a non-US address, some features may not be available.

  8. Click Next.

  9. In Business address, enter your business address and click Next.

  10. In People to contact, enter the contact details of the people service providers should reach to verify your business. Add additional contacts as needed and click Next.

  11. Accept the terms and conditions and click Next.

  12. Accept the terms for adding SHAKEN/STIR protocols and click Next.

  13. Choose whether to set up Voice Integrity and click Submit.

Your details are submitted for verification. Once approved, your business numbers are marked as trusted.

What happens when you switch to an external dialer

If you switch from the Gong Dialer to an external dialer such as Zoom Phone, your Trust Hub profile and trusted calling configuration are no longer active. They are not available while an external dialer is in use.
