Set up Calendly to work with Gong

  • PDF

Article summary

Gong records calls scheduled through Calendly when the following conditions are met:

  • You're set up to be recorded by Gong

  • The meeting appears in your calendar

  • The meeting event includes a web conferencing link

If you don't have a web conferencing link, Gong recommends generating a link by using Calendly's (out-of-the-box) integration solution with Google Meet, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Teams, etc.

  • In Calendly, your event types are set to Calendar invitations. You can check your settings using the steps below

Check your Calendly settings

  1. In Calendly, go to Event Types.

  2. Click CALENDLY-event-settings.png on one of your events, and then click Edit.

  3. In the Additional Options area, click Notifications and Cancellation Policy, and verify that the Calendar invitations item appears at the top of the list.

     Calendly_calendar_invitations

  4. If you see Email Confirmations instead, click Switch to Calendar Invitations.

    Important:

Gong will not record meetings if Email Confirmations is selected.

  5. Click Save & Close.

  6. Repeat these steps for all event types you have set up.

  7. If using the Gong consent page, make sure you add the URL in the location - see steps below.

Recording consent

Follow the steps below to add your personal consent page link to your Calendly meetings to make sure participants see the page before they join the meeting. No additional configuration is required for the audio prompt.

Note:

This is required if the Gong consent page is enabled by your company.

  1. In Gong, copy your personal consent page link from your profile page.

  2. In Calendly, go to Event Types.

  3. Click CALENDLY-event-settings.png on one of your events, and then click Edit.

  4. Click the first item, What event is this?, and in the Location dropdown, choose Custom.

     Calendly_location

  5. Paste your personal consent page link into the Edit Location dialog, and click Update.

     Calendly_edit_location

  6. Click Update.

  7. Click Save & Close.

All events of this type will now be sent with your Consent page link in the location.

  8. Repeat these steps for all event types you have set up.
