Gong Engage*
When a contact asks to stop receiving communications from your company, you can mark them as do not contact in Gong. This helps you track opt-out requests. Once marked as do not contact, you and your teammates see a label next to the person’s name. This label is separate from the person’s flow status.

What happens when you mark someone as do not contact
Marking someone as do not contact or selecting the opt out call disposition removes them from any flow they’re currently in. They won’t be added to flows via automatic rules while marked as do not contact. However, it does not prevent you and your teammates from communicating with them. While marked as do not contact, you can still call them, email them, and manually add them to flows.
When marked as do not contact or opt out, a red Do not contact label is displayed next to the person’s name in the contacts list in the account view, and also on their contact card. Everyone in your organization can see this label. Their name appears in red in the Gong dialer and email composer.
No matter where you mark someone as do not contact from, the "do not contact" label in Gong syncs with the "Email opt out" field in your CRM (if opt out sync is enabled by your admin).
In the same way, marking someone as opted out using the "Email opt out" field in your CRM will be reflected in Gong with the "do not contact" label (if opt out sync is enabled by your admin).
How to mark someone as do not contact
There are a few different ways you can mark someone as do not contact:
From any view that displays contacts: Click the contact to open the contact drawer.

In the drawer, click
and select Mark as do not contact. From the Gong dialer: When making a call, select the Opt out call disposition.
In the CRM: Mark them as opted out in the email opt out field. If opt out sync is enabled by your admin, these contacts will have the Do not contact label.
How people can opt out
If your admin has set up an email opt out path, emails sent via Engage will include a link to unsubscribe. Contacts can click the unsubscribe link and enter their email to verify they want to unsubscribe. After this the Do not contact label is displayed next to their name.
How to unmark someone as do not contact
Note
Unmarking someone as do not contact from Gong is not supported for HubSpot users.
From any view that displays contacts: Click
and select Unmark do not contact. Unmarking someone as do not contact removes the Do not contact label that appears next to their name.

What options does Gong support for giving contacts and leads the ability to opt out from communication?
When setting up company flows for your team to use, your admin can set up each flow to automatically include an "unsubscribe" link that appears for email steps in the flow.
Another option is to add a note in your emails suggesting that recipients let you know if they wish to no longer be contacted.

If this data is synced by your admin, this information will be imported and the person will be marked as do not contact in Gong.
What happens when someone in multiple active flows is marked as “do not contact”?
If someone unsubscribes via an unsubscribe link, they can decide whether to unsubscribe from just the relevant flow or all flows they’re currently in. They’ll be marked as “do not contact” in Gong whether they unsubscribe from one flow or all of them. If you mark someone as “do not contact” manually, the person is automatically removed from all flows they’re currently in.
