Manage MCP client connections

Available on: Any Gong plan

Edit, disconnect, or delete an existing MCP client connection from the Admin center.

Before you begin

All procedures on this page start from the MCP connections list.

To open MCP client connections:

  1. From the left sidebar, click Admin center.

  2. In the Settings tab, click MCP under Ecosystem.

Note:

To browse available MCP servers to connect to, click New connection and select Explore connections. This opens the Gong Collective where you can find supported integrations.

Edit a connection

Edit a connection to update its name, server URL, authentication settings, or access type.

To edit a connection:

  1. Click the More actions Action Menu.svg icon for the connection you want to edit, and select Edit.

  2. Update the fields you want to change.

  3. Click Save.

The connection is updated with your changes.

Disconnect a connection

Disconnecting a connection removes the active authorization without deleting the connection configuration. The connection remains in the list and can be reconnected later. The status is Not connected.

To disconnect a connection:

  1. Click the More actions Action Menu.svg icon for the connection, and select Disconnect.

The connection is disconnected. Team members can no longer use it until it is reconnected and authorized.

Delete a connection

Deleting a connection permanently removes it and its configuration. This action cannot be reversed.

To delete a connection:

  1. Click the More actions Action Menu.svg icon for the connection, and select Delete.

  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

The connection is permanently removed.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to Gong AI features using this connection when I disconnect it?

AI Brief sections linked to an MCP client stop producing output while your connection is disconnected. When you reconnect, they resume automatically with no reconfiguration needed. The rest of the brief continues to generate normally.
