Email export to CRM settings are now managed in the Team members page of the Admin center or via assignment groups if you set up automatic provisioning.

What changed

Previously, email export to CRM was configured per team member in the CRM settings page. Company admins selected each team member individually.

What stayed the same

All existing email export to CRM settings were migrated to the new configuration, so every team member keeps the same email export behavior as before.

Why action may be required

If you set up automatic provisioning, you will have created assignments to permissions for groups of team members. Assignments have an update setting which control how team member settings are updated. It is possible that team members in the same assignment will have different email export settings.

Manual updates

If your assignment is set for manual updates, this means that tech admins can update the team member’s settings manually within Gong, and team members can have different settings even if they have the same assignment. Therefore, no action is required for assignments set for Manual update.

Automatic updates

If your assgiment is set for automatic updates, this means team member settings can’t be manually changed within Gong. Team members must have the same settings as the assignment.

After the migration, some assignment groups may include team members with different email export settings.

Action required: Review each assignment group set to Automatic update and define one email export configuration for each one.

Review email export settings

To review current settings:

  1. Go to Admin center > Team members.

  2. Click the action menu and choose Download CSV.

  3. In the CSV file, review each team member’s email export to CRM setting and assignment group.

Use this report to identify assignment groups with mixed settings.

Set email export settings for each assignment

When an assignment contains mixed settings, the Email export to CRM dropdown indicates that the settings are mixed. You must select an option for exporting emails in order to save other changes to the assignment.

For each assignment group, choose one of the following scenarios:

Desired behavior

Suggested action

Export emails for all members

Set the assignment to export emails.

Do not export emails for anyone

Set the assignment to not export emails.

Settings are mixed across team members

Change the assignment group to manual update or consider moving some team members to a different assignment.
