Where to go: Admin center > Settings > People > Team Member Provisioning
You can set up multiple assignments to assign different settings to different users. If a user appears in more than one assignment, they will be assigned the settings in the first assignment listed.
In Gong, in Admin center > Settings > People > Team Member Provisioning.
In the Assign settings area, click ADD ASSIGNMENT.
In the new assignment, give the assignment a meaningful name so that you can know who should be included in the assignment.

In the <IdP> groups area, select the group you want to define the settings for.
Select the Gong seats you want users in this group to have assigned to them.
Note:
Ensure you assign the Gong seats required for the permissions and other settings included in the assignment.
In the Workspaces and permissions area, set the permissions profile for each workspace in your organization.
In the Data capture area, select which data should be captured and imported to Gong. For details see Add or edit a team member.
In Email export to CRM, select whether you want emails of team members with this assignment to be exported to the CRM or not. See Edit email settings for existing assignments for details on setting this.
In the Update settings area, define how settings can be managed for this assignment:
Manual editing: edit team member settings manually in Gong. Changes to the group settings in your IdP will not be updated in Gong.
Automatic updates: edit team member settings in your IdP. Data capture and permission settings are defined in Gong only when creating the assignment. Once the assignment has been set up, changes are made in your IdP and then updated in Gong.

Edit email settings for existing assignments
Note:
This is rolling out gradually in April 2026
Some existing assignments may include team members with different email export to CRM settings.
When this happens, Gong keeps each team member’s existing email export to CRM setting until a single setting is selected for the assignment.
Admins cannot save changes to the assignment until one email export to CRM setting is selected.
When an assignment contains mixed settings, the Email export to CRM dropdown indicates that the settings are mixed.
Set email export to CRM for an assignment
To set a single email export configuration for an assignment:
Go to Admin center > Settings > People > Team Member Provisioning.
Select the relevant assignment.
In Email export to CRM, select either:
Export emails
Do not export emails
Click Save.
Gong applies the selected setting to all team members in the assignment.
How changing email export settings affects emails in the CRM
Changing the email export to CRM setting does not affect emails already exported to the CRM.
If team members previously had emails exported and are now set to not export emails, Gong does not delete emails that were already exported to the CRM.
If team members were previously set to not export emails and are later set to export emails, Gong does not retroactively export past emails.
Move team members to a different assignment
If some team members require a different email export to CRM setting, move those team members to a separate assignment.
Each assignment supports one email export to CRM configuration.
Find assignments with team members who have different email export settings
Some assignments include team members with different email export to CRM settings.
Export a report of team members and their assignment groups to identify these assignments. Use this report to find assignments where team members have different email export configurations.
