This integration is connected via Salesforce.

Set up Salesforce

  1. If you have RingDNA for Salesforce v1.60 or above, do the following to give Gong access to RingDNA call data.

    1. In Salesforce, go to Setup > Administration > Users > Permissions Sets.

    2. Search for “RingDNA Call Permissions Set” and click Object Settings.

Overview of RingDNA Call Permissions Set with highlighted object settings and permissions.

    3. Search for the Task object.

    4. Go to Field Permissions, locate Conversation, and ensure that Read Access is selected.

Salesforce setup page showing permission sets and highlighted field permissions.

    5. In Permission Sets > RingDNA Call Permissions Set, click Manage Assignments.

Manage assignments for the RingDNA Call Permissions Set in the setup interface.

    6. Click Add Assignments.

RingDNA Call Permissions Set interface showing user assignment options and no records displayed.

    7. Select the integration user that connected Gong to Salesforce, and click Assign. The integration user is listed in Gong, in Company settings > CRM > Salesforce, and look at the Account email.

Gong can now access the required call data from RingDNA.

Set up an S3 bucket

Set up an S3 bucket where RingDNA will push call recordings. Gong fetches the audio files from this bucket using the file name (S3 Object Key), which is prefixed with the Salesforce task ID.

  1. Create an S3 bucket. Refer to Amazon's help article for more information.

  2. In RingDNA give Gong access to your S3 bucket in one of the following ways:

    • Create general access credentials for the S3 bucket, and set Gong to retrieve calls using those credentials.

    • Contact Gong Support to set up a dedicated user to access the S3 bucket to retrieve calls.

  3. Make sure you have the following information:

    • AWS S3 access key ID: required for general access credentials only

    • AWS S3 secret access key: required for general access credentials only

    • S3 path: the file path in the format, region/bucket/root. For example, us-east-1/ringdna-recordings/prod/12346789.

This means the files are located in ringdna-recordings, in the us-east-1 AWS region, and all file keys are prefixed with “prod/12346789/”.
