Ideal for: RevOps
Required permissions: Forecast page access, Manage Forecast board; assign targets.
Add a metric column to a forecast board to show a number that Gong calculates from your Gong and CRM data, such as bookings or gap to quota. Metric columns are read-only, so team members see the value but can't edit it.
Before you begin
Create the metric you want to display if it doesn't exist yet. You can build a basic metric or a formula metric in Data studio.
Add a metric column
Add the column from the board builder, either while you build a new board or when you edit an existing one.
To add a metric column:
From the left sidebar, click Revenue, and select Forecast.
Open the board builder:
Existing board: Click the More actions
icon, and select Edit board.
New board: Click the More actions
icon, select New forecast board, and click Add board under Configurable forecast board.
Click Categories in the left panel.
Click the Add category dropdown, and select Metric.
Enter a name for the column in the Column name field.
(Optional) Enter a description in the Description field. The description appears when team members hover over the column name.
Under Primary metric, click the Metric dropdown, and select the metric to display.
Click + Add filter to filter the metric so it includes only specific deals.
Under Additional metric, click the Metric dropdown, and select a second metric to show in the same cell.
Under Customize display, turn on the Show progress toggle, and select To target or To metric to compare the primary metric with a target or another metric, and then select the target or metric.
Note: The preview under Customize display shows a single cell with placeholder numbers, not your data.
Drag the column in the Categories list to change where it appears on the board.
Click Save to save the board.
After you save the board, team members can click a cell in the column to open a panel on the right. From the panel, they can open the list of deals that make up the number.
