Metric columns are read-only columns that display basic or formula metrics calculated by Gong based on your Gong and CRM data.

To add a metric column:

  1. Click New column > Metric.

  2. Give the column a name (ex: “Booking ($)”) and a description

  3. Add metrics to the column. You can display a single metric (ex: “Booking NB ($)”) or a Primary metric and an Additional metric (ex: “Bookings NB ($)” and “Gap to quota ($)”).

    1. Click Manage metrics and create it if you can’t find the metric you need.

    2. Filter the metrics to ensure the data feeding your column represents the sales motion properly.

  4. Under Customize display, see how a single cell in the column appears on the board.

    Note:

    The numbers displayed in this section are placeholders and don’t represent your data.

    1. Toggle on Show progress to measure your primary metric’s progress against a target or another metric, and then select it. If you can’t find the metric or target you need, click Manage metrics/Manage targets respectively and create it.

    2. Filter the metric to ensure the data feeding your column represents the sales motion properly.

  5. Save the column

  6. Rearrange columns by drag and drop:

Once the board is saved, team members can:

  • Click the cell to open a panel on the right.

  • Click the deals included in the metric to open a drilldown view of the deals from the bottom, where they can inspect the deals and investigate a little deeper.
