Smart trackers identify concepts in calls and emails by analyzing meaning and context, rather than just keywords. Pre-trained smart trackers are out-of-the-box trackers built by Gong that you can activate at any time, without any training or configuration.

These trackers are designed to cover common sales and customer concepts and are available in all supported languages.

Pre-trained smart trackers cover concepts that commonly appear across sales conversations in a wide range of industries, helping teams:

Pre-trained smart trackers and playbooks

Each element in Gong’s ready-made playbooks is associated with a pre-trained smart tracker built to support it. These trackers enable AI Deal Reviewer to suggest the status of each methodology element by summarizing key findings across all recorded conversations associated with a deal.

You can remove this tracker or replace it with one created by your organization.

If you keep the tracker that’s included with the playbook, it will be activated automatically when the playbook is published, and tracks both calls and emails by default.

Pre-trained smart trackers and theme analysis

Several pre-trained smart trackers are designed specifically to support theme analysis (AI Theme Spotter). When creating a theme analysis, you can select from preset business questions that are based on these trackers, making it easier to analyze common customer and deal-related themes.

These preset questions include topics such as pricing reactions, customer concerns, customer objections, strategic business goals, customer pain, and decision criteria.

If you don’t see questions related to these topics, make sure the relevant trackers are published in AI Tracker.

Activate pre-trained smart trackers

To activate a pre-trained smart tracker:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Agent Studio.

  2. Hover over AI Tracker and click Settings.

  3. In the Tracker type field, select Pre-trained Smart Trackers (look for the By Gong label).

  4. Click Publish next to the tracker you want to activate.

  5. Choose whether to track the concept in Calls only or Calls and emails, then click Publish again.

Note:

Pre-trained smart trackers can’t be edited.

Check the tracker’s activation date

You can see when the tracker has been applied since in AI Tracker settings:
